Is that a new Draw/Card effect I see? Is it enemy based? I think it is.

It's hard to tell... its definitely used right after Draw, and clearly there are two new cards.Is that a new Draw/Card effect I see? Is it enemy based? I think it is.

IM SO EXCITEDDDD!!!
GIVE ME THE NEW CARDS NOWWW GIVE ME THE NEW LORE NOWWWWW
I NEED THE INFORMATION NOWWWW
I really thing its gonna be a debuff for enemies. I think I recal seeing some affect hit the target after the card was activated.
And I think I saw somewhere that someone was able to make out the cards. The red card said Lord while the pink card said Lady.
Anyways! All speculation but I am STOKED
I hope they made some changes to the AST moves too like Stella and such. I am looking forward to these skills changes, they look promising.
Another card to confuse the party with~
could just be that you decide what your cards target, the Lord to enemies the Lady to party stays party by default
This is probably the most puzzling of the new abilities that were shown during the benchmark trailer. It's difficult to say with any certainty what it does, how it works, or even who it affects. From what I can tell, it seems to function similar to Shuffle in that it follows the use of Draw except it pulls from these two new cards. There's the possibility that these cards enhance the card obtained through Draw in some way, but I consider that to be the less likely scenario since I feel like the order would be reversed if that were the case, similar to Royal Road. If these cards each have their own effect not influenced or dependent on the other six cards, what could they do and under what circumstances would their effects be desirable?
Could also be based on what sect your in as a thought. Lord being more offensive and providing buffs to the party while in dirunal and Lady being more passive and giving the enemies debuffs or something. - would like that a lot -
either way. #asthype.
Honestly I'm just happy to see more refinement in the card system, it's easily my favorite toolkit out of any class.
But one thing about this new skill confuses me, the fact that it displays 8 cards, and that the Astrologian (seemingly) automatically draws one of the two. However, the numbers just don't match up, if each card in the original deck had two card options, the animation would show a total of 12 cards instead of 8. If the cards were being split based on their Royal Road typing (Extended, Enhanced, Expanded) then we're one card set too high, I also doubt square enix would make a Draw II skill if the only difference was maybe drawing one of these two new cards, unless the cards were simply THAT game-breakingly powerful.
My thought is that the new skill shown is a cooldown that modifies the previously drawn card, either as a stronger buff or debuff to cast. This would be why there are two new cards shown, surrounded by the six AST can draw currently. In the video, before the camera pans to the AST, they draw a Balance, then they use the new skill, and after choosing the red card (or maybe its a 50% chance to get either option) they appear to cast the card's effect onto the enemy (though the particles could be from the SMN that is also fighting the same enemy) for a damage reduction debuff.
If there are debuff, what it could be?
Balance --> reduce enemy damage (Disable again ?)
Bole --> Vulnerability enemy (hum, it's a balance inversed...someway)
Arrow ---> Slow
Spear --> ?
Ewer --> ?
Spire --> ?
Choose between buff and debuff, it's a good idea, but I can't see really what it could be.
What I think, it's :
- Draw (nothing changes)
- Launch it for individual use
Or
- Royal Road rework --> Choose Lord to reinforce the next card | Choose Lady to extend the next card. (doubled duration is removed)
No changes for Spread.
