The atrocious 270 weapons give me little hope for the 275 versions, but we'll see what happens.
Only BLM/WHM/PLD look nice to me. AST is... not my type. Not a fan of orange, especially since the vast majority of our spells are blue.

If history repeats itself, it will be a slight visual enhancement to what we have now. My guess is that it's against [Garlean] Ala Mhigan law to have an axe larger than a certain size.
If this keeps up, Warriors upset about this perfectly acceptable Anima Weapon that they personally dislike may very well unseat Bards whining about The Wanderer's Minuet as Eorzea's Whiniest Job Players.

I don't mind the final weapon designs. in fact i like them a lot. I find designs that are simplistic in shape but have a lot of detail worked into them amazing. it's the reason why i liked bravura and parashu so much over its upgraded variants, and why i used a vintage viking sword as my go-to glamour until amalace dropped into my lap. I love how they are simple in shape, yet elegantly detailed. i love how the glow effect (on the bladed weapons at least) compliments, rather than overpowers. the weapon designers really outdid themselves imo.
However, my partialness to simple-yet-elegant weapon designs does not blind me to the dislike some have with the weapons. at a glance, they do look overly simplistic and uninspiring. some of the shapes are even just updated versions of low level weapons. i get it.
So, being sick lately, seeing this post really made me cheer up. The fact that someone asked if the freaking axe design was a bug had me crying from laughing so hard. XD But sadly I'm not a fan of most of the new relic designs myself, Bard is the best in my opinion. Ninja daggers are really bad compared to the ones before (Spurs will forever be my favorite daggers for my beloved ninja <3) Not sure what they were thinking with the warrior axe, and the DRK sword is upsetting as well. It's sad that so many people will glamour over the relics they worked so hard to obtain![]()
People are speculating on Reddit that what we see now, was actually meant to be the i275 version, and they messed up and gave us the glow versions of the relics early....
Can you even imagine running around with those super basic models WITHOUT glow for a patch cycle? Haha...

The weapons are as intended. I'm not sure where people got the impression that there's a 275 version waiting in 2.55 when the weapons are explicitly called "Completed Anima".

Probably from Yoshi-P specifically saying there'll be another step in 3.55 during the patch note reading stream

I mentioned this in an earlier post, so I'll post the pictures this time.
The above image is the current i270 DRK weapon, as we know the glow effect is wispy and yellow. The image below is the final form of the DRK weapon. It's clear that the glow effect becomes soild and more pronounced, as well as changes color (purple for DRK cause their soulstone I believe)
Another thing to note, the entire questline is about creating a weapon with a soul, a living weapon. The glow effect is representative of the soul, which is why the base weapon is so simplistic. The emphasis is on the glow effect, not the weapon itself.
