    New craft / gather achievements

    So I already have enough unique items gathered via botany to get the achievement, but the achievement doesn't appear to trigger. I guess I have to gather something new to get it to trigger? Only problem is I don't think there is anything currently available that I have yet to gather.

    Also on that topic, I need 6 more unique items for mining and I think I have everything currently available for mining. /o\

    Same, all you can reach is 154/160, if you gather the totality. Every miner is facing this derp atm.

    Pretty sure SE forgot that both Botanist and miner have some items in common (clusters..), and when you gather them once, it's achieved on both.

    So I just got my first "Blessed" tool, and I'm kind of disappointed with the glow. The glow effect only displays when you are actually gathering or crafting something. For an item like this where it is basically just a glamour item (the tools I already had were better than these) I want to be able to show off my achievement. Without the glow there's nothing to distinguish this item from other items that have the same model. Since I have to craft or gather to be able to see the glow effect, I can't really show off my achievement very easily, especially for the gathering tools since you can't really gather items in a town or city.

    I'd like it if the glow was always visible for these tools, or at the very least, make the glow visible when I draw the tool (press Z key).

    Tend to agree with this, I received my blessed hatchet today, and would really like to
    have the glow at all times.
    Would love this as an option for all tools and weapons tbh. An option for ppl to turn others effects off should also exist for those that dislike glows, but personally I would love to have the choice for all weapon/tool glows to be visible at all times, sheathed or not.

    The disparity between the requirements for getting the crafting achievements versus the gathering ones (sans maybe fishing, haven't looked into it) is absolutely absurd as they are now. For the miner (after fix, anyway) and botanist achievements, you need only gather one of everything below Heavensward 3-stars, which makes these achievements a great catchup for returning players, which I presume was part of the point, given their stats. That's a piece of cake. You're quite likely to have gathered most everything that isn't a timed spawn save for maybe seeds and soil, so assuming you have the stats needed to gather HW 1-stars this achievement takes maybe a few hours for those two. One supposes that the grind for the legendary node books could be factored in here, but unless you quit the moment you reached 60 you probably have those anyway.

    On the other hand, the crafting achievements require that you craft one of nearly everything in the standard recipe book. The amount of work that takes is unreal. This includes the housing tabs, by the way, and although it seems as though some recipes with particularly uncommon components are left out of the total required, this is still a massively larger amount of either work or money than the gathering versions. (Shard prices shot up almost immediately after the servers came online, at least on Excalibur)

    The gap between these two desparately needs to be closed some. Even with mastercraft recipes out of the equation, it still takes days to accomplish the crafter achievements unless you have massive amounts of money to dump into it. It seems very unbalanced.

    I looked at the craft requirements and didn't bother, too much pointless grinding. The mining ones should be "catch-up" as you said, but they aren't either. You need min 860 gather because some HW 3 stars are needed to make the total, as well as grinding out all the books. The fisher one is as bad as the craft, you need to catch practically every single fish, folklore included.

    the game has 484 different fish, getting 460 isnt that bad, you can skip many annoying ones. And those tools are still catch up items for people with crafted 170 gear

    460 fish is certainly far more work than 140 mining items or 230 botany items, particularly when no minng/botany requires specific weather. and you can't say they are "catch up" when they require full HW 3 star starts - you are not doing them with ilvl 180 gear.
    as the OP said, the requirements are all over the shop. The mining/botany is reasonable (bar the 200 requirement), the rest including the craft ones are far more work for the same thing.
