    1) Your subject says 16, not 14.
    2) You may wish to try the Zodiark world's novice network.

The forum isn't a great place to find friends sadly. Outside of the server specific forums, most people that see your post will be playing on an entirely different server! The server specific forums aren't very active either, so even if you go there, it will take some luck to make some friends.

As EveK recommends, the novice network is a great place to start. It's a chat channel in-game for new players and mentors. You'll have to hunt down a mentor for an invite if you haven't had one already. Asking around in a big city can probably accomplish that quickly. The novice channel is a great place to meet other players and form groups. Check and see if anyone has a social linkshell you can join. That will continue to serve you even when you grow out of the novice network. It's possible you're already past the novice status (you lose it after so much time played AND completion of the first main quest line up through lv 50 stuff)... if so, do not despair, you can still make friends and find good social linkshells to join!

Another good place to start is a Free Company. You might have been ninja invited to one already. Ideally, you should join an active FC with a wide range of players, so you have new players to group with and long-time players to learn from. Beyond that, you can try setting up party finder groups restricted to your server. It also pays to be a bit social with players in your area... be it in the wild doing FATEs or just goofballing around the big cities.

I'm always happy to make new friends, but I play on Faerie :P
