    I think I may have found a temporary fix, at least for me. Here is what I did in Nvidia Control Panel:

    1. Went to "Manage 3D Settings"
    2. Set "Power Management mode" to "Prefer Maximum performance"
    3. Set "Texture filtering" to "Performance"
    4. Set "Threaded optimization" to "On"
    5. Set "Maximum Pre-rendered Frames" to "3"
    6. Since I game on a single display, I also found that "Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration" was set to "multiple display performance mode". I am not too familiar with this setting, but I set it to single display mode just for safe keeping.
    7. Of course, using MSI Afterburner to down clock by 100.

    By doing a combination of all of these settings I was able to play three 1+ hour separate gaming sessions with no crashing; today I did a three hour session with no crashing as well. I will note that I am using the latest driver 378.49. Hope this helps.

    Honestly, i don't wanna set up in 5 different things stuff so i can MAYBE play a game i'm paying for, with a support and team that still didn't said a word about it. We're paying costumers, yet, after a 10-side long discussion, not a single word from SE about it. Its obviously nothing that happened for certain people, a lot got it, and it seems that some data's are causing the trouble, not setups or anything. So at least a word from SE about it, that they working on it, or something, cause, it makes certain parts, or even the whole game, not playable...

    Sorry, but you're not likely to get one. This forum is for players to help others players, SE don't answer support queries through it. You need to contact them via phone/email/chat etc for that.

    Also sorry that I can't assist with the actual problem, but thought best mention this in case waiting indefinitely for an SE reply that won't happen.

    OMG, thank you for pointing me in that direction. After being unable to launch the game in DX11 at all from the patch day I have gone through game reinstall, numerous old and new AMD driver reinstalls and other attempts to fix this issue and now it works again! Or...at least somehow. I did launch GeDoSaTo and deactivated it and then launched FFXIV. At first launch I got a normal stopped working error (not in japanese, already a bonus) and on second try it actually launched and so far so good. I really hope it will keep working. Fingers crossed.

    EDIT: So disabling it was only temporary solution but now I removed FFXIV from GeDoSaTo's whitelist and seems that might be a solid solution.

    I've had this crash a few times now, but most recently I was just flying around Zenith area doing the mog quests and it hit.

    Glad I found this thread. I just recently came back to patch 3.5 after being gone for several months. I thought it was something with my computer, but guess that isn't the case.

    Just bought the game a few days ago and I've been having this issue. It seems to happen randomly, sometimes in a loading screen sometimes when I'm just standing around. I can't log back into my characters either when this happens as the same crash happens when I try to log back into my character and it's very frustrating.

    Edit: I uninstalled the game and re-installed it fresh. Was fine for about a day and a half then the game crashed and I got the same error. When I verify the steam cache it says 44 files are not verified and it reacquires them. Then I have to download havensward all over again.

    Something you might try if you're using Windows 10 is to disable Xbox Game DVR which is enabled by default with Windows.
