sorry, I saw a few other solutions though and this one seemed popular:

1.) Go to My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
2.) Open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in Notepad
3.) Change the line "BootVersionCheckMode" number from 0 to 1.
4.) Launch and you should be good to go!

Thanks for the tips but I just decided before you posted to download and install again so I should hopefully be ready shortly after the maintenance is over.
I just wish I've seen your comment beforehand, It might have prevented me to download the whole package again

I honestly can't remember how often they end it early on these long ones if at all.

Here i am, trying to download the patch at 0.02 mb speed and crashing, proceeds to bang head on the wall. I just remembered i was downloading another game. It was taking 40 hours so i went f*ck it, and stopped it. After that my download speed went back to normal and downloaded the patch in a good 5-10 min.

I honestly can't remember how often they end it early on these long ones if at all.

Not when they are adding next tier items, they don't want the chance of someone getting some of the new items/tomes before the reset and then again after the weekly reset. They will wait until weekly reset time to finish so no one has a advantage.
