Yeah me! Now I have to download and install again the whole FF XIV:ARR + Heavensward.
I guess it was too hard to implement a REPAIR function that checks for file integrity and download only what went wrong or was missing, like it's done in other MMO or games. ( > _ < )

Stupid IT question "did you restart?" lol, not that but, did you clear your temp. files? Can go get CCleaner and it'll do it for you, just keep in mind that unless you tell it not to it's going to go run through your chrome (/whatever browser) sessions and make your browsers forget you were logged into stuff (not end of the world but could be surprising lol).

There is no stupid question when trying to help
But yeah I've done all that, I even started the game on a new Windows user profile to eliminate any user data related issue but I still get the same error.

sorry, I saw a few other solutions though and this one seemed popular:

1.) Go to My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
2.) Open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in Notepad
3.) Change the line "BootVersionCheckMode" number from 0 to 1.
4.) Launch and you should be good to go!

Thanks for the tips but I just decided before you posted to download and install again so I should hopefully be ready shortly after the maintenance is over.
I just wish I've seen your comment beforehand, It might have prevented me to download the whole package again
