Hey guys, let's kill 2 bird with one stone, let's say the OP starts wondering about the 3 day maintenance when 4.0 comes out and starts asking to get compensated . " pulls out popcorn and waits for the fun to begin"

Great, now I'm reminded about how bad its probably gonna be when early access ends up having as many log-in problems as HW did.

Same here but on the bright side day of release will see it all fixed. Long live those who stress test for everyone else.
As far as maint goes, don't really see the big problem. History shows us they take about this long for their major patches so people can plan around it, and its the last day before reset so most people should already be done capping stuff. If anything it gives us all time to, ya know, play something else for a bit.
Here go educate yourself then come back to us with a better complaint why you can't wait a Day on Bytes of data.

Not sure if that was for me or someone else, but none of that has anything to do with why maintenance in this game takes so much longer than other games. Those are all general topics and the practices in them can be applied to games that have maintenances done far faster than they're done here.
Also, I took computer networking in college, including Cisco networking, so you're preaching to the choir in that regard. Please stop being condescending, it's making you look silly.

Go back to class sister.
I recall XIV having a series of maintenances every week for a while after HW, and server problems definitely aren't unheard of here. XIV has bouts of weekly maintenance in between major patches somewhat often as well. And WoW's small patches ARE usually 1 hour vs the 3 hours XIV has. You can actually find that info online, in archives and such. The thing is, they DON'T put them out relatively quickly without many problems. WoW patch maintenance is about 6-8 hours at a time... but there will be repeated maintenance the next couple of weeks (and usually a few on off-days) along with random restarts/crashing issues... and STILL manages to be bug-riddled for months. I would far prefer a 24 hour solid downtime and few issues afterwards.
Lol.
I think we have nothing left to discuss, you're resorting to insults now ;P

1)I didn't have any connection or buggy issues after HW. That's not to say other people didn't, however it was not an issue across the board. Maintenance/restarts/downtime affects all servers on WoW.I recall XIV having a series of maintenances every week for a while after HW, and server problems definitely aren't unheard of here. 2) There are -no- maintenances that is 1 hour. 1 hour is simply for restarts and occur with the addition of *no* content at all, any content patches are far longer.
