Wait what does Nero have to do with Omega? Was he even mentioned in the main story line? In ST story he gets sucked up into the darkness, never saw him mention anything about Omega. Maybe I missed something though.

He mentioned it in the cut scene he appears in afetr we cleared the first raid.

Also I jsut found out about the cloud of darkness thing.

No. Nero has nothing to do with Omega Weapon. He was in CT to use the Darkness, and said "Not even Ultima Weapon can compare to this".

Well, we could use this thread to discuss Omega Weapon at least.

Honestly it feels a bit early to introduce it I think. Also, from past FF games Omega Weapon was usually designed to destroy Shinryu, so they apparently took some creative liberties with this.

I think it's a pretty safe bet to wager that an Ascian is controlling Teledji Alaledji, just as it's shown at the end of the main storyline that the Ascians (and not Shiva, probably to some people's disappointment) are controlling the Archbishop of Ishgard. The Ascians are an ancient race, but do they contain the level of knowledge that the Allagans had to be able to reawaken the Omega Weapon? Time will tell.

You are forgetting that Lahabrea gave Ultima to Gaius. Knew everything about it. Told him how to use it. Including the ultimate magic.

there is no doubt they do. both weapons were built by the allagan empire, and the ascians outlast them.

i'm pretty sure they were there when it was built, when it was first activated, and when it was stored below the canteau flats.

No. Just no. Clearly they were working together. Clearly, the weapon and the magic were something that Lahabrea had intimate knowledge of. The Ascians are in on Omega Weapon, of this I have no doubt. They engineered Dalamud's fall via Nael. It follows that they knew of every contingency. As mentioned elsewhere, I don't believe they see Bahamut as something worth paying attention to anymore now that The Calamity has taken place. I suppose only time will tell if this is so. It just all seems so self-evident to me.
