Anima minion is obtained by a quick "talk to Gerolt then Rowena" quest which is available after you get the 270 anima weapon

This. I just finished my 270 anima weapon and got a quest which unlocked the Anima minion.

So...this wasn't in the patch notes, but I saw something on the ConsoleGamer wiki and a few other sites about an "Angel of Mercy" minion. Sorta looks like a little blonde cherub holding a stereotypical heart. Anyone else heard anything about this one?

Whenever there is a major patch they tend to pre-load data for future seasonal events, but don't release information in the patch notes about it. When I do these regular threads I don't always include that info in the first post cause a) it's dat mining and b) some people might consider it spoilery

Yes, it is in the dats and is either a quest reward or a bought item in the Valentines Day seasonal event
