13 "unique" glamours that I find aesthetically repulsive might as well not exist as options for me. Want more variety in glamours? Make stuff that more people don't find ridiculous or flat out ugly looking. I know much of the ire towards "overused" glamours is directed at females, but males have even less options if you want to avoid wearing a dress.
I do change outfits based on class/job though.
WHM & SCH (and eventually AST) use a white dyed Uraeus coat, Royal Breeches from CT, some black dyed Linen Halfgloves, and black dyed Kirimu Boots of Healing. The Uraeus coat is the one "long" chest piece I can tolerate in the game. All the rest can go burn in a dumpster somewhere for all I care.
For Gladiator I'm currently using a black dyed Wind Silk Coatee chest piece coupled with the Thancred modish pants and boots and Haurchefant's shield from the questline. It looks nice without being a dress or tunic. It doesn't look like heavy armor sure, but I find it far more aesthetically pleasing than my other options and frankly thats all that matters. Anyone else's opinion can go burn in the dumpster with all those pseudo-dress "unique" glamours.
For Marauder I'm currently using the Galerus chest piece with Falconer's Bottoms, Survival Boots, and the Miqote racial gauntlets. It gives me a gladiatorial semi-armored look that's not a dress, not over embellished or bulky and shows some skin.
For Rogue, the starter Miqote chest and pants, coupled with black dyed Linen Halfgloves and Lominsan Soldier Boots, fits the bill easily. It has a very swashbuckler feel to it. I currently use the same set for my crafting gear, though I am considering buying the Cid outfit from the shop for that purpose.
For gathering I use the South Seas Talisman, Extreme Survival Slops, Expeditioner's Moccasins, and those black Linen Halfgloves again. The talisman is a bit bare for my liking but I like a lil sexy/skin and the tattoo is a nice touch. He looks very "outdoorsy" chopping down trees and mining up ore.
The biggest thing you can see from my outfits though is that they use almost no class-restricted pieces. That's one of the biggest roadblocks to my glamour options. I can deal with iconic job specific gear like the awesome lvl 50 Dragoon Set (which I will surely be using for my Dragoon glamour when I level it) being restricted. But more generic stuff thats just restricted to DoW or DoM really throws a wrench into my options. Especially since probably the most opportunities to escape a "dress" lay within that area (though still with few options). Ultimately I want to see more non-class restricted, non-dress, non-tunic, non-long-dangling-crap, non-bulky/poofy, non-overly embellished, options. That will increase variety in glamours I guarantee.
