This. The way I dress my WAR (which isn't even visible on lodestone) is different from how I dress my MNK. But if someone took the time out to stalk me to see my gear they'd just see the last thing I wore completely out of context. It's grasping at straws and being awfully presumptuous in practice anyhow since lodestone isn't very fast on, well, loading.

Yeah, because hardly anyone is playing lalafell these days. So unique! >.> My server is PACKED with lalas

It's not the race, it's what you make out of it. And when there's only so many options to make your character look different, then what can you do?

That's the point? There isn't much I can really wear that I like on my tank? (Well, besides my China Dress, which I love to death).

There are things I'd like to change, like wearing the booties that casters can wear, and even the new Garo body piece and skirt for the healers on my tank, but more than likely, I won't be able to, cause it's all most likely restricted to healer classes and jobs.

How can I set the pace, or break away from the crowd, if I am just as restricted as said crowd?

P.S: I know you weren't trying to be rude and I understand xD

I do run into painfully generic cat girls here and there, but at the very least the ones I know look much more unique in that respect. I see most players more as like npc's anyways so I don't really care.
I do see fun glamours here and there though. Sometimes simple is good, sometimes people make some crazy glamours and sometimes you see 4 dps who are clearly friends using the same set of glamours which is kind of funny in a good way.
The funny thing is that using the good ole armor sets shown in class concept arts and such are incredibly rare and always stand out. Like how many black mages wear the iconic (that's proper iconic, not ubisoft iconic) black mage set? VERY few and huge props to those that do even if its for a while.

I'd have a much more varied wardrobe if we had more "not class restricted", "not dresses", "not long tunics", "not long coats", "not long capes", "not dangling bits of fabric", "not bulky/poofy", "not overly embellished", options. Until that happens I'll wear what few things aren't "class restricted", "dresses", "long tunics", "long coats", "long capes", "dangling bits of fabric", bulky/poofy", "overly embellished". Which means I'll be wearing lvl 1 all class glamour gear more often than not.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

Honestly, I do think it is a bit sad how the game gives us so much freedom of self-expression without having to worry about society's standards too much
(yes, yes, I know, burly roes are still not allowed to wear the maid outfit, but you can put on a skirt if you want to, so let's not delve into that topic too much),
and yet people mostly use that freedom to all wear the same anyways, as if their taste/imagination is so limited that only Ureaus Coat and Thavnair Dress qualify?

I mean, I get it. It looks nice, it shows off a lot of skin, it reminds us of dancer, etc.
And if it is ONE of people's outfits, great! But when it is glamoured onto every. single. class. they. play...it just pains me to see so much potential wasted.
Like, you could have had 13 unique glamours, and within these, I'm sure there would be some that surprise and inspire me! But no, it's just Thavnair Dress all the way,
no matter if you are on healer or tank or melee or mage. And that's just flatout boring.

Not mocking you, just trying to make a point about people in general.

Posts like this make me want to glamour everything I own to Thavnair Dress out of spite. I glamour my stuff for me. Not for anyone looking at my character. If someone hates the way my character looks it's their own personal problem and frankly makes me enjoy that look all the more.
