Maybe this is what players should be asking for, rather than "new" content per se? I know nobody WANTS to stay stuck in an endless loop of the same crap they've been doing for years, but I don't think anyone can deny that some really nice set pieces in this game have been one-patch wonders, so to speak, and that they're woefully under-utilized ATM. Nothing ever really seems to be expanded upon, it just comes out as-is and if it's not popular, it either gets shoved into a roulette/relic chain to "incentivize" it or it just plain gets ignored.
I'm assuming by your post that you mean gear = relevance. By that logic, then, all they needed to do to keep it relevant is raise the ilvl of the rewards. Boom, done. Relevant.
That would have been better than what we got.
But what I'm saying is that Diadem is something that should have gotten regular updates. I saw Diadem as a foundation for a new type of content. Instead it's just... nothing. You kill mobs to get gear. There's no progress here. No challenge. Nothing to clear.
We're finally getting an update, but it's been over a year already.
Compare to something like Palace of the Dead. It's self-contained. Even if it gives no gear rewards, it will always be relevant.
