We need more combat endgame of different type. Raiding might be good but for some people there is no time to form a static party. Many of us play at some hours others do not. Other people just don't like to the procedure to find a good 8 man party. We could use some diversity on combat endgame by introducing more 4-man party challenging content and solo content. Also raiding in 3.0 kinda failed in comparison with Coil in 2.X. No significant and compelling rewards and no exclusive story kinda killed it. The endgame is kinda flat and not enduring. I just want to see if 4.0 will do something about it. We could use some more variety and horizontal progression.

Horizontal progression is just an illusion of choice The whole static mentality is a community issue and nothing to do with the design of the game itself. All you get with horizontal progression all you'll see is the raid gear all of it being BiS for all classes and the set below it that is slightly worse which every one will choose and the other 3 or 4 sets that are trash and people will only do the content it comes from if they like how it looks.

I'd like to see more contents as well that keep me entertained until the next patch. Right now i don't have anything to do much since i don't do PvP or Savage, i don't consider crafting, gathering and leveling end game but just general content. I might try out Raiding later if i can gather enough people in my shell but until then any activity that i can tackle is more than welcome.

I am currently spending time doing the Postmoogle quests from the 2.x updates (otherwise at "midcore par" if you will, if that means pugging a10s weekly), and those post moogle stories are far more interesting and fulfilling and rewarding and substantial than a lot of the battle content. Equivalents would make great end-game content. I would hope we could get more sidequests like that, though I do see there are a bunch of Scholasticate quests coming in 3.5. Battles or challenges or glamour gear in them would be nice though, but not necessary.

    What are you on about?

With each patch, we get a minimum of:
    • One large raid (either 8-man or 24-man)
    • Two BRAND NEW dungeons
    • One 8-man boss fight (primal/MSQ)
    • Thoroughly voiced, well-written MSQ quests
    • Side quests
    • Improvements to many systems
    • Bug fixes
    • Advancement of the Relic weapon
    • Lots of new gear

Other enhancements have included: enhancements/additions to crafting and gathering, enhancements/additions to existing in-game features (e.g. Diadem, housing, the feast, camera), UI enhancements, new features, and more.

All of this comes on a remarkably consistent schedule of once every 3 months.

    There's plenty to do.

Think you may have missed a key word here: endgame.

I think the issue here is how people define endgame. Since the OP wasn't specific its rather had to tell what she was complaining about the lack of.

Endgame takes a lot of forms and generally there is bound to be people who enjoy and don't enjoy different aspects of it. If we are being technical Endgame just means content that exists at max level after the completion of the Main Launch Story. My that definition many of the things that come out in every patch are endgame, even if you don't specifically enjoy them.

On another not, I would point out that usually EX weapons aren't obsolete when they first come out. I know many people who are still using Sophia weapons, particularly on off specs. Unless your clearing A12S getting better isn't that easy.

It clearly is not endgame because that is not the end of the game. It was at one point. It no longer is. Endgame is transitional.

I feel like we've run into a paradox here.
