So what's going to be done about the 'Slay Thy Neighbor' PSN trophy?

So even though the description for Slay Thy Neighbor is 'Participate in PvP', which implies to me that the only requirement is to run any PvP mode, apparently the only thing that will trigger this trophy is The Fold, which, as you can imagine for a level 50 instance with no incentive whatsoever to run it, is completely dead.

I cant imagine that it was intentional that a trophy for a still supported platform be made inaccessible, so I can only assume that it not being triggered by level 60 PvP was an oversight. When can we expect to have this fixed? Especially considering the Garo event is coming up, so SE is obviously trying to drum up interest in PvP, this seems like the optimal time to get it done.


It's especially annoying since I used to be an avid PvPer, but never got the trophy since I do MSQ on PS4 but usually switch to PC for any group content. Kicking myself for not queuing even once on console back when level 50 was still relevant!

Very bizarre that the 60 PVP modes don't trigger it. I myself got that trophy from the now non-existent level 30 Wolves Den back when PVP was first added.
Hopefully someone will relay this problem to the development team as it is most likely an oversight. You could try submitting a bug report to get attention to it as well.

I sent a bug report in-game and got no response, then I filed a support ticket and was told to submit a bug report in the bug report forum. My bug report was moved to 'Accepted Bugs' briefly before being moved to 'Not a Bug Report' for some reason, so unfortunately trying to get some attention in General chat is my last resort.

The trophy only requires you to run one match of the old Wolve's Den, one time. You don't even have to win. Just grab 7 random people on PF or something, make two groups, and queue up. Done in under five minutes. Maybe pay em some gil for their time or something for incentive.

I've tried that also, can't get enough people interested to do it. I'll certainly keep trying, since that seems like my only option at the moment, but just because I could conceivably get the trophy that way doesn't mean that the fact that all the PvP modes can't trigger it doesn't need fixing. The requirement states 'participate in PvP', so the issue is that when they implemented new PvP modes, they neglected or forgot to add the trigger for the trophy to them.

Cross server party finder should help as well I think. I don't have PS version of the game but I am interested in getting some achievements from The Fold. I'm sure there are others like me and with the expansion soon, there will be more people who have free time in game to try other stuff.

For some unfathomable reason, SE has chosen to separate PVP queues based on map, rather than separating them by mode. This serves to further fragment the small pvp community, and is one of the major reasons that the pvp community in ffxiv is hamstrung, aside from GC restrictions(which are finally being removed.)

Yeah, honestly the fact that this is even an issue really drives home how much of an afterthought PvP content is. I'm not really a fan of the Wolves' Den matches, but Frontlines was really fun back when it was still fairly active. I tried so hard to get my FC mates interested, but no one was even willing to try one match.

I'm really hoping this event coming up gets a few people to at least give it a shot. I always hated PvP in other games, and I'd never have tried it in XIV if I hadn't fallen in love with the Swansgrace coat and sworn to get it (And the rank required to wear it) no matter how many awful Frontlines matches I had to endure...but then I actually played a few matches and realized I was actually having a lot of fun, so I'm confident that a lot of people who turn their nose up at it would feel the same way if they were just motivated to try it.

Huh? I got that trophy the other day from running PvP roulette the first time (threw me into seal-rock), so I guess its simply bound to the corresponding ingame achievement
