Introduction

Hello ya'll ^^. I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV since it was released and Final Fantasy in general for well...a long time, haha! I play as Kai Crystallis on the Rabanastre server and belong to the Order of the Blue Garter linkshell.

I've made a complete and up to date notorious monster guide as detailed in the posts below. This guide is completely up to date with everything from mob location to notable drops to elemental properties. This guide was created via a compilation of several sources and I will continue to update this post every single patch to ensure that the details match the most recent patch and that you are easily able to locate all the notorious monster information you need!

I really hope this guide helps everyone. I want this list to be the as accurate and helpful as possible so please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or critique whatsoever so together we can continue to build the community.


Legend

The list below is separated into six sections representing the six types of ways that notorious monsters are classified in Eorzea (Open World, Faction, Dungeon, Stronghold, Quest, and Primal). Below is an explanation for each section to explain how each set of notorious monsters are grouped together solely for the purpose of this guide. I've classified a NM based on its ability to grant the character a Lodestone History entry and therefore other unique mobs that do not give this history title will not be listed.

• Open World: Found at a specific location in the open world and are not bound by any claim restrictions.
• Faction: Found during specific faction leves.
• Dungeon: Found during instanced dungeon content.
• Stronghold: Found at a specific location in the open world and are not bound by any claim restrictions but more specifically are located in a beastmen stronghold.
• Quest: Found at a specific location in the open world and are not bound by any claim restrictions but more specifically are related to a quest objective.
• Primal: Found during instanced primal content.

Each notorious monster entry on this guide is structured in the format below with the following information:

Name: The NM's name.
Level: The NM's level.
HP: The NM's health points.
MP: The NM's mana points.
Genus: The genus to which the NM belongs.
Map: The location the NM can be found.
• I've listed the location how it is shown on the in-game map.
• In brackets I've added personal notes to help you pinpoint the NM's general location.
• In parenthesis are the coordinates of the NM. Please note that the coordinates are general and the NM can be found anywhere in that location within an approximate 200 yalm radius.
Notable Drop(s): Items that are exclusively dropped by this NM.
Aggro:Whether an NM will aggro you or not.
• Aggressive: Monster will attack you without provocation.
• Passive: Monster will not attack unless provoked.
Detection: How the NM will detect your presence.
Element: Main element associated with a given NM.
Weakness: Element to which the NM will be susceptible.
Crystal: The pattern in which this NM and monster of the same genus will drop shards/crystals.
Incapacitation: Body part that can be incapacitated.
Spawn Condition: Conditions to which the NM will follow in order to spawn.


Order of the Blue Garter Napkin Strats

Napkin Strats are strategies and tactics used to defeat notorious monsters. These strategies include everything from an overview of the fight to the abilities that a given notorious monster uses along with a breakdown of each phase of the fight. Our linkshell plans to continuously update these strategies every single patch so please keep an eye out for them the more NMs that Yoshi-P and his team throws at us :P.
