I'm sensing a lot of players don't really know what they want.
Other than everything, of course.

I dont care if all gear is wearable by all races/genders.
I just want more gear designed with certain races in mind. If other races can wear the lalafell lvl 1 clothes? i care not. I just want more gear thats from a lore perspective made with lalafells in mind. Or miqo'tes in mind. Or roegadyns etc.

I'd like a new set of race specifics, I mean, we got tons of AF gear, why not a new set for racial gear?
That would be interesting, but I wouldn't like it if it was just one other set. Would make a lot of people look exactly the same, which is the opposite of what glamour is all about.
Would also bother me if they were to put it in mog station. I'm not paying a subscription not to have access to everything (and I mean everything, even cosmetics). I don't agree with cash shop in P2P MMOs and no matter the excuse, I never will. $20+ for a mount, for example, is absurd and there's no argument that will change that.
It would be pretty cool and allow for more gear sets to be designed exclusively for specific races and thus work around clipping issues more easily...but the very vocal portion of the community that expects everything to be available to absolutely everybody would lose it pretty quickly.

I would love a questline like this. The idea of placing more emphasis on your characters chosen race should be mentioned in game and visually represented aswell has always been interesting and would go a long way in world lore building. (Glamour of course, no attributes need be assigned)
However i would like to go few steps further a request Race Specific Equipment (RSE) for all races and sub races (Midlander/Highlander, Seekers of Sun and Moon, Hellsgurd/Seawolf, ect...)
Such a quest could be tide to role and repeatable so as to obtain heavy, medium and light variants, all made to diverse to both race and gender.
People have a hard time accepting when Females get unique clothing and all the male specific clothing are usable on the females. To now add another restriction such as race to new gear would create the same scenario. That Au-ra gear looks cool why can't Hyur wear anything cool like that? That's why it's only that starting gear which is race unique. Going past that man talk about the amount of resources needed to please every race in that scenario. At most I feel the closest they could ever go to this type of fashion is just a single piece of gear that is race unique, much like how they've changed the event gear to be a less is more scenario, releasing less gear per event so players can use that new piece and build around it.
That could work but again if there is one design people like from X race they will fight to have it be all races much like they fight for the ability to wear female gear or to have male gear added to the female gear list.

The only races where race locked equipment makes any sense whatsoever are Miqo'te and Au Ra, and in both cases solely because tail accessories don't work on other races due to a lack of tail.
The rest goes into the category of the insanity:"By every measure of science you should be able to put it on, but you can't."
Which is often countered by the size fitting argument. Meanwhile, we're casually refitting the Legacy Warrior armor made for a freaking Lalafell to fit a Roegadyn in a rising quest. Because we have the technology.
I don't mind designing gear with particular cultures or body shapes in mind, but it just doesn't make sense to restrict it to them. That's just the bunny suit for males all over again.

Somehow i doubt a roegadyn would fit inside a lalafellin shirt without any modifications xDThe only races where race locked equipment makes any sense whatsoever are Miqo'te and Au Ra, and in both cases solely because tail accessories don't work on other races due to a lack of tail.
