issues with the novice network interface

there needs to be a feature where new players can choose to accept an invite from the novice network. this is in regards to the adamantoise server. while i was starting an alt i was spammed with an invite and EXPECTED to ask questions. I DO NOT ACCEPT THE IDEA TO BE SPAMMED. its no different from an rmt spam. the dev team needs to add a filter so new players can choose how/ when and IF, they want to join the novice network. i had quite a lengthy conversation with a gm, at this rate i am blacklisting every mentor who dares to even bring up the notion of the novice network. not only is there a text box explaining politely to engage in a conversation to invite players, i find it very rude to just see a player with a green leaf icon and "just spam every single one with invites" this is a quote from a mentor who currently resides in the novice network. when players are not asking for help, even new ones, this treatment is just plain rude.

in terms of coding - there are scripts already in place in other functions in the game. i do not want to see game play diminish because of acts like this, how ever this is getting out of hand. this is not in regards to a specific mentor who is spamming, its becoming a community issue. this needs to be brought to attention

I agree there should be a filter that auto blocks an invite. I think they said they will add a yes and no option. So prepare to be spammed with a pop up window asking you to join every time.

Read the preliminary patch notes. a Yes / no option is included upon being invited to the Novice Network.

Well that seems like a mature response. Obviously I can't speak for every mentor, but for me I invite people to the novice network when they're new players in need of a place where their questions can be readily answered by people that know what they're talking about. That's how it works on Ultros anyway. Our novice network channel is fantastic.

I believe there's a way to just remove the new adventurer status from your character which would remove the sprout icon... ah yes here we go:

Players whose total play time is less than 40 hours will be set to New Adventurer automatically. To change this status, select your character from the Party Members tab of the Social interface, then select the Edit Search Info subcommand.

Asking for this information rather than lashing out at every mentor you see trying to do their job might have been a better approach.
