    Stupid reason to report someone

I got reported because I didn't do damage, as a healer.

I've been healing a9-12 normal regularly and the number one cause of wipes is the other healer does damage and puts all the healer pressure on me.

I do not dps as a healer. It is a choice I make.

Now I was doing a guildhest on an alt because i'm really bored with this game anyway and some dark knight goes and tells me to dps. I took it less than well and I told him off. Then he went off to tell me I was getting reported and proceeded to kill the stupid turtle.

I am not having a good day.

If you blew up on them and started to be less than nice, then yeah, that's grounds for reporting. Don't tick people off, even if they're in the wrong.

If a healer has time to stand around, jump around, emote, sit down, make a coffee while waiting to heal, they have time to help dps. If the tank is squishy and constantly dipping in health quickly, then go ahead and pure heal. If DPS stands in AoEs and goes down quickly, their problem. As a healer, it's a matter of laziness with dps. Time to lean, time to clean. If you can stand around for awhile, you can dps.

It was a stupid reason to report someone. Gameplay differences can't really be punished or enforced. Just because the tank believed you should be doing DPS doesn't mean any action can happen to you.
Don't dwell on it, everyone thinks differently.

Then she can report the guy she told off for greifing via intentional killing of the gil turtle.

With proof that he did it intentionally, she could.

An old argument. Personally I don't think healers should be forced to DPS. That said, I see no way of changing the existing system to remove that requirement from Healers. Its almost mandatory these days to DPS as a healer in between heals. At the least I'd like to see it be made simpler. Have healer DPS spells scale up in damaged based on their MND stat and remove Cleric Stance.

I sympathize with your situation of the other healer not performing their primary objective. It can be tough to predict what others will do in DF for sure, and that can certainly discourage one from trying to juggle healing and dps. Sorry you had a bad day! Cheer up!

Don't worry if you don't like to dps as a healer. In the end, it's really about your comfort level in doing so.

Personally, I won't dps as a healer right away unless I know the tank, but I will start after a pull or two to gauge the tank's squish-factor. I know a healer who will not dps - at all - unless one of three people are the tanks - this healer will panic if the tank's health hits 70% (anxiety issues), and she'll too often run into DF tanks who don't know how to use a freakin' cooldown. I know another healer who will dps as a SCH, but not as often as a WHM, unless she's with a trusted co-healer. And yet another who bounces back and forth - but he mains as a tank and dislikes healing. And then there's the healer I know who will dps until the tank is at about 500 health, then pops a Lustrate/Tetragrammaton. (When I'm co-healing with this individual, I heal full-time, screw the dpsing.)

Certainly, if you have time to do something else other than overheal, you could get a couple of dps attacks off. Cleric Stance, 2 offensive spells, and back out of it.

It's not even about the DPS. There's 2 kind of people giving advice.
-The person who really wants to help a human player by making it's life easier.
-The bossy elitist who tells others he knows how to play better than them.

He was rued, I was rude, everyone was rude. Ban everyone.
