Pretty much that in fact, that's what most of us think when doing a glamour in general and the reason we see pig suited tank and half naked DpS, because people want there glamour to please themselves, not necessarily be race fitting or even related.
Just like in RL, you were what you like, not necessarily what's "appropirate" or "fitting" (according to the society) to you (men wearing skirts instead of jeans, "big" gilrs wearing sexy outfits instead of hidding their forms, women wearing sarouel etc etc)

As long as it pleases you who should care what you're / your avatar is wearing ?
