Why not? Even if not a leotard, it would've been nice to get a chippendales inspired outfit since that's about the closest male equivalent to the Playboy Bunny, then all you have to do is unlock the rabbit ears. Or just unlocking the ears at all would be good for most players I think, there's already plenty for a makeshift Chippendale outfit.
I'm not against it I just was wondering if it was a jk response. Why not? "Was it a popular thread like this?" I should of asked.
Ah gotcha! It was a pretty popular demand earlier, though under the more broad umbrella of "Unlock gendered armor!" with the bunny outfit being the primary example.
I don't think there was one particular thread as large as this one (though this thread mostly exploded after the community rep posted asking for feedback).
It has come up a few times in various threads, and at the PAX East Q&A.
It was divided between lots of threads, some longer and more popular than this (though I think the longest I personally got involved in focused more on the Thavnarian set, but the bunny set was discussed as well and it's essentially the same issue, so I include that as well). Just a few examples:
Stop FFXIV Gender Inequality!
Bunny Ears for Boys Please =:-3
New glamour dress on a male (art)
More gender locked clothing
For the 129392831203123801 time. STOP IT with the genderlocked gear.
Those are just the ones I could find easily because I took part in the discussions. It came up in quite a few other threads as well, and yeah, it's a real issue. A lot of players are upset that those who play female characters get a lot more glamour options than those who play male ones do.
It hasn't been discussed as much lately, just because there's only so long you can keep just reiterating the same complaint. But there hasn't been anything done to fix the issue, which is as bad as it ever was.
