Keep them locked please. It makes the races special having exclusive outfits that only they can wear. I personally find the hempen set one of the more adorable sets in the game giving each race a special look.

Just someone being salty because the idea is popular and for reasons they can't explain they want to be a wet blanket about it and throw out any negative argument because of said salt.
Unlock them. More positives than negatives from where I'm standing.Greetings, glamour enthusiasts!
Thanks for the feedback and the discussion! We have relayed the feedback from this thread to the dev. team.
We understand the desire to have the variances in the Hempen set unlocked across all the races, and also understand those who prefer to preserve the uniqueness of these sets.
Since there are players who are both for and against this type of change, we'd like additional feedback to determine whether we should unlock the Hempen set varieties for all races, or if we should keep these glamours race-specific in order to retain the uniqueness. Please let us know which you would prefer, and we will pass these thoughts back to the dev. team.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts!
I would prefer to keep them locked as well. The only race specific gear we have are starter gear and the hempen sets. They give each race the sense of uniqueness and makes them feel a bit more like a race of their own.
So personally, I really really really hope that hempen sets will stay race specific.
I'd love this. It doesn't make sense how people are arguing for exclusivity when the race sets are already a thing? Hopefully they do unlock them, it'd be great.
Why have race specific sets? I don't see the point other than keeping the race's sense of uniqueness which is ... dumb. There's a bunch of set diversity in the game, a little more won't hurt. Not to mention the fact that the races are very visually diverse without their race specific set. You can tell an au ra apart from a roegadyn easily.

Most who argue to keep it exclusive most likely haven't even worn them in months if not years. The only people i see wearing them on Balmung are the ladies and gents of the evening in the QS.I'd love this. To be clear, I'm against unlocking this set for each race. I enjoy the unique quality each set brings to each race.
I would rather like to see more RSE glamour for each of the races... It doesn't all have to be underwear though. Casual and formal attires could also be introduced to further flesh out the culture of Eorzea and each race... Cause even though we all have our own headcanons for our characters, Eorzea definitely has it's own lore and each race primarily hails from a specific area. Little details like what people in a contained culture wear, and why they wear it, could be used to further define the history of Eorzea and each of the races.
The races look different, yes. But that's as far as it goes with the differences between races, this game offers little to none content to bring out the uniqueness of each race. And while hempen sets might not be the best way to bring that out, at least it's something, at least it gives a little bit more uniqueness to each race. So, if hempen sets lose their race specific status, people who like the exclusivity of the sets, will only be left with the starter gear.
I'm also aware that not everyone cares the uniqueness of race specific gear but there are still many who do, and it would be sad to see it taken away.
But, again, this is a matter of opinion and everyone are free to have theirs. We just have to live with whatever decision dev. team decides to make.
If the goal is to provide a greater sense of each race's cultural traditions (which I very much agree with, and think is far too lacking currently), wouldn't it be just as effective to have a "Hempen Undershirt in a Miqo'te style" and "Hempen Undershirt in an Elezen style" and so on as it is to have a single "Hempen Undershirt" item that just looks different based on who's wearing it? I don't think we need them locked to a race in order to provide a cultural link to that race, we just need the cultural link identified (which it currently isn't).The races look different, yes.
