For something simple like the cami and stuff, it should be allowed for other races too~

That would be great if the Hempen set styles are unlocked.
You are not alone in your feelings on this matter, but we are grossly out numbered.I personally do NOT want to see the stuff unlocked. Will probably get lynched for not agreeing on all of you here, but I'd like the races to have a bit of uniqueness. The racial stuff kind of holds a bit of culture of the races and to see it unlocked really brings a sour taste to my mouth. The few bits that set the races apart will be unlocked most likely due to overwhelming agreements to it. But... I'm really not seeing it. Personally, I want the bits to stay to the races. Just to give them a bit of them own flair. If I want a character wearing Au ra stuff, I'll play an Au Ra. Simple as that. I cannot imagine my Miqo'te to wear anything else but Miqo'te stuff.
But my voice is one that will get lost in the sea of overwhelming yeses, and that kind of makes me sad.
Just imagining Lala's running around in the more revealing sets turns my stomach, if i wanted to see that i would go play Tera.
This may sound a bit aggressive...but as far as I'm concerned wanting "uniqueness" is and inherently is ridiculously selfish. It's wanting to police what other people can look like, and frankly that's nobody's business but their own. Literally nobody wins from restricting cosmetics except for the few people who want to irrationally stand out among a crowd of strangers.
If this was a very racially segregated setting, then sure I could buy it. Outfits that are given to growing X race as a coming of age ceremony would make sense, but that is not the world of Eorzea. It's fairly recent development, but the humanoids have for the most part all come together. In fact with the exception of Au Ra and Duskwights, race is barely an attribute. You're not a lalafel or a hyur, you're a Gridanian or an Ala Migan.
What you and many, many others against this fail to realize is that the Hempen Sets are universal sets that have set appearance for each race. They are not separate sets and they never have been. The request is to make all of the sets separate as it makes no sense for a generic set that is already equippable by all races to have VASTLY different appearances despite being the exact same item. That is the problem at hand, one that you are very clearly ignoring or simply not giving the time of day.
I won't lynch you for being against it, you have that right, but referring to it as a racial or cultural item is wholly and completely uneducated when this item set is in fact not locked to any given race as is, only the appearances are.
Furthermore, race means little in Eorzea, in fact the characters that /do/ refer to others by race are often pictured as very rude and offensive— an NPC called my character an "Auri bitch" for example while the others made new reference to my character's race at all in the exact same questline. This is not how Eorzea works, more oft than not, characters are referred to by their nationality or city state rather than their race. This is how Eorzea works and will hopefully always work. Clothes are NOT a determining factor, nor will they ever be.
See what basketofseals above me said for a better idea of what I mean.
To that extent: Few here are championing the idea of removing the restrictions on the iconic starter sets; nor should we but there are a few who are foolishly asking for such, however a glamour set as trivial and somehow as oddly diversified as hempen underwear shouldn't be treated as "cultural uniqueness." It's blasted underwear for the love of god! That would be like saying because I am white I am now restricted to wearing one type of underwear and am limited to what I can or can't wear because of my skin color. That's the kind of argument you are putting forth and do you realize how silly that is?
There is a huge difference between a cultural set like the sets that HAVE the race names in them, and the Hempen Sets which are more or less treated as light fanservice.

Lalafells aren't children though. Far from it actually. They don't even look like children. They don't have humanoid bodies. They don't have breasts(basically). What is there to reveal? We already have bikinis lol.
You can't reveal what isn't there.
