meh I skip all the cutscenes. I don't play video games for stories. They tend to target the young adult audience and are generally cliche.

There is no FFXIV without Hildi. Sorry but you know you can skip the quests if you don't like them.
Same, I don't really care for him. Luckily they've not gated any content behind that trash this time.I agree. At the very least can we not get him showing up for almost every patch? I appreciate that some people like him but his humour is very niche, over the top and development of his side quests detracts from the possibility of adding other side quests that are both more in-depth and interesting.
I miss the days when we had the game world and NPC's fleshed out through the Moogle Delivery quests. They were fun - and I was hoping for a Heavensward edition of them.
You may want to reconsider playing this game altogether, then, if you can't stomach the game itself without Hildibrand being a part of it. Furthermore just because someone can skip the quests it doesn't mean they can't speak up about development time being spent on it - especially if it detracts from the development of other, more serious side quests.
No thanks. More please.
I am a loyal friend and assistant to Hildibrand and I will follow him to the end of the earth. If anything, I hope he has even more presence in 4.0 now that the development team realizes that he's so popular that they even added a story for him in Heavensward despite not having anything planned before. His type of humor may not be for everyone, but for those he overjoys, he is often the highest point of the game.
To be honest up until about 3.4 it was very obvious that Hildebrand was rushed/tacked on as they originally had no plans for him in 3.0 and admitted so.
More of 3.x Hildebrand? No thank you.
More of 2.x Hildebrand? I can get on board with that.
Hildibrand is written by Japanese writers and translated into multiple languages. If you don't understand how the Japanese write scripts or direct their shows then a lot of the story will be lost on you. I do wish sometimes the writers would use some influence with writing from the West, but I understand why they do things the way they do.
The first part of Hildebrand in Heavensward was really slow for me but it has finally picked up. I don't know why the writing was slow for the middle of Heavensward, the start and the end are really good(I mean the start and the end for all stories for me
).
It was good comic relief, and thats all I expect. I dont expect it to be lol funny. But its a nice storyline, and I prefer it over the schoalistic storyline.
I would really like them to do a storyline featuring Hildi's mother.
