Please fix or remove housing!

I've got my 2 little pots but they mostly keep my chocobo in nibbles and I'd like to grow some flowers

Flowers only take a day to grow, so you might give it a try. Just plop some potting soil and seeds in and then alter the colors as needed with the pumace and a day later you've got flowers. Also I don't know what Balmung's prices are on soil, but it may be cheaper to purchase chocobo food from the Vath beast tribe vendor (don't think you've unlocked it yet looking at your level, but someone in your fc might have?). They're 348 gil each and if you're using G3 shroud soil, unless it's about 2,790 gil for the soil, you'll get more selling (or just not buying) the soil and just directly buying the chocobo food. Plus you get the food instantly and you're not spending the time/garden space on it.

I didn't realise flowers only took a day so I will try them next cycle. I haven't opened the beast tribe yet but now I know I shall be ready! I'm lucky with soil and stuff I have a good friend who has played forever who gives me stuff and my FC mates are very kind too

I agree that being able to buy a house is difficult and seems to not be enough to go around. Yes there are people that will buy up multiple plots and then charge insane amounts of Gil selling them to other players (personally I think those people are rmts mostly).

The house I have took me a while to get and a lot of waiting and checking each city housing areas almost hourly. Housing should be available to everyone in my opinion. If they do the apartments the same way they did the mog house's back in ff11 you could get 2 floors of space plus an outside gardening area.

Incredibly salty. Well here's one for you guys that think removing housing is a valid fix. Transfer servers! "Oh but then I can't play with my friends". Boohoo. Seriously create an alt or something. The ones complaining are on the overpopulated servers. Housing is fine on all of the other worlds.

Exactly the kind of idea I wanted people to reply with! I hear ya, and I really do like (though I've never played XI) how I hear XI seems to have done it, every moghouse came with a garden.

Even if they added the ability to have more pots and cross breed if you put them near each other would be ok with me. Though an instanced allotment would be awesome!

I think that's a great idea! Gardening is one big reason I'm unhappy with the housing system. I also want to experience actually building the airships, not just joining an FC where they have all 5 already made - and being told to go to Diadem and be happy. Also, in 99% of those same FCs, not everybody has access to exploratory missions....where the big gil is.

Perhaps to somebody who isn't focusing on the topic of the thread, but rather taking a stance of mental superiority - feeling as though by making a salty comment such as that, they've done something impressive.

The topic isn't going to appear friendly or nice to anyone who is one who:

A. Likes it when they're the only ones to have something.
B. Has sold a house, illegally mind you.
C. Has bought a house illegally.
D. Isn't experiencing the same problem.

If it doesn't apply, let it fly. That's the mature way to go about it; not insulting or changing focus.

Removing housing is a valid fix, even if it is one that not even I want. How about putting a lower cap on world population so that there's enough plots for everyone. Maybe instancing the plots on a single ward could do it?

I started this thread so that others who share in my view could also say something. So that others who have constructive criticism to provide regarding the topic would have a proper channel to output to.

I invite you to read the above text too. Of course you don't see a problem with housing if you happen to be on a world where housing isn't a problem - or have one yourself - or don't care at all about it and only care about trolling valid posts. That doesn't change the fact that the issue exists, and that people who do care about said issue(s) are trying to do something about it in whatever way they can - for instance, through awareness.

Hey Evol!
I don't mean to sound douchy but I recently got a house on Sargatanas. Small but still a house, I'm fairly new, about two months old and definitely could not afford the outrageous party finder demands of 12mil for homes.
It took me about four days to get one after starting. I just logged in every couple hours during the afternoon and finally found one in the Lavender Beds. I saw three small Goblet homes spawn as well, as well as two mediums.
