What is this new anti dps healer attitude?

I've come across a lot more people who really dislike dps healers.

And its not other healers telling me this. It's tanks mainly. And dps.
I've already seen this a couple of times in Heavensward but now it seems even more common.

Now, I know that tanks have gotten a bit more squishy but they can still mitigate very nicely when played properly...so I still see a huge skill gap there.

But if you go for big pulls and then hardly use cooldowns or use them when they arent needed anymore, I will ask you to work on your cooldown management.

And thats when I suddenly get to hear a lot of stuff like "healers heal" and "your dps time is over since stormblood released"....... Umm what? They just removed cleric stance, why would my dps time be over?

What is it with this misconception being spread? I can still dps just fine if the tank has somewhat of a clue what they're doing........why would you DISLIKE me helping with dps and speeding up your run? I rarely let people die
because I still manage my healing just fine. All I ask is for you to do your part as well.

I dont know if this is a data center thing, but I'm on EU Chaos and I really have been seeing this attitude increase a lot.

In response to the answer that healers do DPS and end with no mana at the last trial of Stormblood, and cause the wipes.

Well, in that trial many people die, but what I have seen is dead healers too, not healers with no mana who couldn't heal. Certainly in that place a couple of good healers can do a lot of work, but they can't carry all the group. And if one of the healers is new and is dying frequently, the other may not be able to raise and heal all the rest to the end.

I have only been there 3 times, the last a win at first try, but none of the wipes were because of healers doing too much DPS and ending with no MP. Mostly too many people receiving too much damage, and too many deaths to survive until the end. And if one of the frequent dyers is a healer, your chances of passing are way less.

I have seen insults to the tanks where deaths were happening right and left (and not because tanks were dead and DPS had aggro.) : ) Not one complaint about healers doing DPS.

It's all those DPS that want fast queue's so they play healing specs and proceed to DPS anyways...they should just make damage from healers negligible in dungeons and give them more utility/increase healing requirements so they have something to do. If you are going to have a trinity game, make each role unique.

Could the extra healing really have saved them from being ledged for the third time inside of 2 minutes, though?

I certainly wouldn't call it "new," whichever the side of the fight you are on. Some healers aren't comfortable dps'ing and some people aren't comfortable running with healers who won't dps and there's a lot of friction between the two sides. Honestly, I've seen both sides get pretty rabid about their positions and as I don't really have strong feelings either way, I tend to steer clear of most of the arguments. Still, it's been around at least since I started playing (ARR,) though it did seem to get more heated in late HW.

I think you misunderstand. If I read the OP correctly this is about people complaining about healers who do help with dps. Not the old complaints about healers who don't dps.
