Some key points --

A9S 82,078 cleared players.
A10S 67,240 cleared players.
A11S 38,614 cleared players.
A12S 19,725 cleared players.

Assuming the unofficial census's lodestone parse of ~357,000 currently active level 60 characters is accurate, that's a ~5.5% clear rate as of now.

DRK is now the most played tank at 47%. WAR is second at 34% and PLD is now last at 29%. That's a huge turn around from a year ago when PLD was the most played.

SCH is the most played healed at 43%. WHM is second with 36%. AST is last at 22%.

SMN is the most played DPS job at 20%. BLM is the next highest at 16%. BRD is at 15%, DRG and MNK are tied at 14%, and NIN and MCH are the two least played DPS jobs at 12% and 8% respectively.

PotD Floor 200 has a 13.1% clear rate amongst characters who've progressed past 100.

Not really, at least not at the moment, as the savage mode is just an extension of normal (which would have much higher clear rates). Also, it's nice to have (optional) content that does offer a significant challenge should you want it.

That said, I am a bit worried about savage mode come 4.0, which is supposedly going to be getting it's own bits of story. Not only does that increase the dev time, but it locks lore behind content that only few % can / will (/ should) ever clear... and that was the issue non-raiders had with raids in early WoW, which of course lead to endless calls for an 'easy mode', and we all know how that turned out #LFR. Not a good road to go down.

The lack of Au Ra popularity kind of surprises me. Maybe it's because they look to similar to Hyurs? I tend to see plenty on Balmung.

Horns clipping through everything and neck/head scales are a bit annoying parts of Au Ra.

Tho if they'd just give us option to completely remove scales from neck/head, I might stay as Au Ra permanently. I somewhat forced myself to keep using long hairstyles on Au Ra since short ones revealed the scales on neck, which in turn added more clipping with chest armor and weapons.

Kinda hoping that we'd see character creation updates on 4.0 release and we'd get more control on Au Ra scales; maybe options for more or less scales for those who want.

I always have a tough time believing these gender ratios. Like 90% of the people I know play female characters.

The fun thing about statistics is that without knowing how the numbers came to be, judgement is always a little iffy. See also: More Roegadyn than Au Ra in due to counting all characters, instead of active ones.
