You cut out the meat of my post (that you quoted and responded to), it still serves as an excellent reply to this most recent post of yours. (Edit: "this most recent post" refers to your post, as quoted in this post, you have since posted as I typed up this response.)
Your point about the bluebird earring (as well as the other accessories and barding) differs from PvP because it encourages players to be creative, posting art, poems, and screenshots. There certainly is a difference between the numerical ratings of the feast leaderboard and the nebulous selection of winners of other such forum community events, "The FFXIV Development and Operations Teams will select winners based on creativity and overall execution according to the criteria listed above." (with the criteria being a list of what the submission should and should not entail, i.e. inappropriate/vulgar content).

Contrast this with The Feast:
"A season refers to the set period within which participants of the Feast must strive to achieve the highest possible PvP rating and tier. At the end of each season, players will receive rewards based on their final tier. Participants that fulfill certain conditions will also be eligible to receive special season bonuses. PvP ratings, tiers, and rankings will then be reset in preparation for the next season."

"From patch 3.26 to 3.35 players can fight fang and claw to compete in solo and party rankings.
When the dust settles at the season's end, players will receive special accessories for placement in the bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond tiers, with exclusive rewards for top-ranking players."

They announce that there is something for participating, so no complaints about missing anything. They also announce, separately, that there are "special"/"exclusive" rewards for winning, tied to each season, referring to top prizes. This is working as intended, and like I said before:
