Said content can be done with both DPS afk as well, what with the lack of enrage timers. But, most people wouldn't like that, would they?
If you are present, you should do what you can to contribute to killing stuff faster. Casting a heal every 7 GCDs and doing nothing in between is pure laziness.

Damage dealers dps isn't what's being discussed here though. It's healer dps. Related topics? Perhaps. But not the one we are currently on. And yours is a flawed comparison anyway. Damage dealers are supposed to do damage period. Healers are healers first and damage dealers second. This means as long as they heal everyone they are doing their job. Certainly not to your standards, but to the average standards of the entire community they are doing fine.Said content can be done with both DPS afk as well, what with the lack of enrage timers. They didn't say it was the intended design for instances. Their post more says "design of the role", at least to me anyway. If it wasn't an intended design than why is healing so light, and healers are given spells like Holy/Gravity?
Healing is not light in the content as designed. But the content was not designed to be overgeared the way it is. The item level and level sync are completely insufficient to the task. All the comments from people in this topic about not needing heals in dungeons are based on dungeons where you are completely overgeared, sync'd or not. The original intent of level sync was to maintain not just the challenge but the three roles of the trinity in older content. As we can all see from running older content that is not what happens.
I'm also a bit ticked off at the usual MOAR DPS crowd and their dismissive view of healers. Next time you need a heal and I'm your white mage, perhaps I should pause and ask if you need my healing arts now?
You don't be rude back because you are in as much fault as they if you do. See my previous post.

Play MOBA for maybe an hour and you will get used to ignoring people like that. Too bad it's difficult to turn chat off in this game. You either have all chat, or no chat.
It's not like they ever police their own game anyway. I think they ask for a screenshot of the chat log and if you didn't make one they do nothing. They even ask you to post a video of botters and host it yourself.
So yeah, I was rude. There is no justice but the one you do yourself.
You want to police rude ppl? police ALL OF THEM.
When life gives you lemons, cry yourself to sleep, and tell all your friends.

So when you say you got reported, did you actually have a GM mail you with a warning placed on your account? Because that's what they do. If they didn't, then you report was probably either false or thrown out by the GM.I got reported because I didn't do damage, as a healer.
I've been healing a9-12 normal regularly and the number one cause of wipes is the other healer does damage and puts all the healer pressure on me.
I do not dps as a healer. It is a choice I make.
Now I was doing a guildhest on an alt because i'm really bored with this game anyway and some dark knight goes and tells me to dps. I took it less than well and I told him off. Then he went off to tell me I was getting reported and proceeded to kill the stupid turtle.
I am not having a good day.
