How about daily login rewards in Stormblood?

It's a common practice now in many MMOs and even in some Final Fantasy titles like Record Keeper. That would motivate many players who play only 1-2 times per week to login (and play) more often, with consecuitive logins offering greater rewards.
It could be anything random, from a small gil or tomestone amount to a rare potion which instantly gives 1/2 or 1 level on any job it's used. And some legendary rare items can be exclusive only to daliy logins, like minions or glamour sets to make the feature even more appealing.

Aside from Record Keeper, Final Fantasy XI does this too which gives you login points to exchange for mounts and stuff.
Like this mount I got for my XI character for example

It's a good alternative to the cash shop as well I think.

This game doesn't need to turn into one of those mobile games. Please, oh god no. We all pay a monthly subscription, so why does there have to be an incentive to play everyday?

You mean mobile games like the 15 year old MMORPG called FF XI?

It doesn't have to be an incentive it's just a bonus in no way does this mean FFXIV will be like a mobile game.
if hypothetically XIV takes on XI's reward system replacing veteran rewards it'll just be giving players points to put towards items as a way of saying "thanks for supporting the game"

    You're freaking out over nothing.

In a way, there's already daily incentives to run dungeons in the game. Roulettes. Extra tomestones, gil, seals, XP, etc. I wouldn't say this is needed, just the roulette rewards may need tuning to be worth more.

I see posts of burnout within FFXIV. While Stormblood will see a temporary resurgance of players, how many of those will stick around long term? I've been playing for over 2 years (with one 5 month break between patch 3.2 and 3.3), but I'm actually considering another break. I wonder how many others feel the way I do. I have real life to take care of, I've also got things I want to achieve in a space sim game I play. The tomestone grind for my Scripture gear just doesn't feel worth it. My healer is already practically there (just missing weapon but I have everything I need to buy that) and I'm sure come 3.5 my tank will have the ilvl already to take on the new expert dungeons.

To me supporting the game would be actually running the content, not just logging in. I feel the roulette bonuses cover that quite nicely but I wouldn't be against an expansion to bonuses for running content. I just don't feel like a "Hey, thanks for logging in, here's some free stuff" would feel right in an MMORPG.

I've played FFXI for the first 3 expansions after RoZ and there wasn't a daily login bonus. That was of course, when the game was populated and didn't need these incentives. Daily log in bonuses make absolutely no sense for a monthly service. If you want to feel special for logging in every day, do Expert Roulette.

And why do you assume I'm freaking out? Is it because I disagree with this silly idea? Or would you rather me just say "no" and offer no reasoning behind my objection?
