    Im gonna try help by bumping this topic.

    My main reason is because my friend is having the same issue with the DX11 client (windows 7)
    AMD Cpu & Nvidia gpu.

    And after reading many other reports they all seem to have 1 common factor wich is the DX11 client.
    Players that have AMD cpu's shouldnt be forced to play using the DX9 client.

    Please Square-Enix, look into this asap!

    Sorry, but SE don't answer support queries in this forum. It's more for players to help other players. You'd need to create a bug report in that forum, using the template, then they'll look into it.

    Very odd that they don't have staff provide technical support and rely on the players/community to do so. I have yet to fix this problem.

    Maybe fixed?

    Ok so after trying to figure out how to solve this problem for I'm guessing a year, I found someone saying that they ran this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...n.aspx?id=8109 to repare directx and so far its worked for me. I played all day today with Directx 11 running on fullscreen and had no crashes. Knock on wood and write back if it actually works for you. Spread it like wildfire because answers are nowhere.

    besides...there are other ways to get forum admins "attention". (wich i have done aswell)
    And im pretty sure this issue isnt classified as a "bug", but rather a technical issue regarding compability.

    Downloaded the .rar files and ran the .exe, I'm assuming that's how this install works. Will get back to you if it worked for me.

    I too have actually been running into this problem recently myself, which is odd since I don't have FFXIV bought through Steam, but use it as a overlay (as in having it register as a non-steam game). I get to play for quite a while sometimes and it just freezes, or I get about a few min before things just stop all together. (Even controller functions).

    Trying to Alt-Tab or CTRL-ALT-DEL just gives me a black screen and I am unable to do anything besides use the power button to shut down. Been having this issue ever since 3.5 hit.

    Also to note I have tried just about every trick the OP has tried as well with no success and am running on DX11 too. I will try running with DX9 instead when my scans I have going are complete.

    One thing I would like to note though..I wonder if Steam itself (or its overlay) could be conflicting with the game somehow? To me it seems odd that even though I did not by FFXIV thru stream, yet use its overlay, I am having the same issue as those who actually bought it thru the steam store..
