Wow that really sucks.I feel bad for the Korean players losing their houses. Definitely yet another black mark on the housing system.

You wouldn't call a system that they can't afford to run for all the paying customers poor design? It isn't a matter of ability(gil) that prevents players from getting houses. So basically the developers build a system, knowing the bosses won't pay for it bad?I wouldn't call Open World Housing, poor design as a whole. SE just needs to provide more real estate. The capability exists. The question has always been "Is it worth the investment?" and not "How can we accomplish it?". Up to this point, it hasn't been worth investing in. Will that change in 4.0? Who knows?
Not you glad to see the development team and SE don't value every sub equally. Because what it comes down to is the system in place is only for the because they refuse to pay more or design better.
It is kinda out of topic but everytime I read that FFXIV KR is run by Nexon it bothers me so much so here I go. What Nexon is doing with this game is channeling, not publishing.
FFXIV is still getting published by Eyedentity Games(formerly called Actoz Soft) which is a Korean company that Shanda owns.
The best solution would be to expand the housing instances. We have 12 wards right now. Expand that to 24 during such a server consolidation, and copy the merging server's housing into 13-24 on the staying server.
But, that would take development time to implement. Just skimming the TC's copied post suggests they were not given that time.
From the way Dev's have talked housing wards right now are built into the core of the game. Every server has to be the same. This is not some vanity wings this is a whole zone built into the stability of the game. Meaning if KR needed the expanded wards it wouldn't happen till every part of the world gets it.The best solution would be to expand the housing instances. We have 12 wards right now. I am surprised that something like this hasn't happened yet to the NA servers (specifically with Aether, as Balmung and Gilgamesh are wayyyy higher population than the rest). But decided to do it for the KR servers.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Housing, linkshells, players names, FCs names, rankings are all server connected. They're losing more than just their houses.
Comes with a game centered around story. Yes, that is frustrating at times.
It's too far removed for me to actually garner pity. It sucks for them, but the way the post was presented seemed more it was, "Look at what SE is doing to kFFXIV, it can happen to us!" Considering how few people do any type of research at all, could quickly pull into fear and gossip of misinformation (just look at the Viera threads). Especially with the food for thought comment at the end; doesn't really appeal to feel sorry for them, only the fear that we're next.
You're right, my bad. I had seen that the website said Eyedentity, but so many had been saying it was NEXON, I actually went with the masses. I should have known better. It is kinda out of topic but everytime I read that FFXIV KR is run by Nexon it bothers me so much so here I go. I'm sorry you lack basic human compassion. You take whatever you want to take from my OP. I guess since it's not happening to us, who cares. Back to discussing the important stuff, like half-naked bosses. It's too far removed for me to actually garner pity. A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

To think people were asking for server merges here...
I really don't get why they kept building on the broken system that is housing with wards, the longer they take to move towards instanced housing the worse it gets when situations like this arise.
I theorize that people might quit. Houses are used for more than just personal reasons. Houses are central to free companies, and the order they bring. I'm really worried about how this might damage the games reputation.
