Is progressive content or the community to blame for player skill gap?

and when somebody in those duties say screw this or get good scrub because I'm a newer player who is actively learning mechanics who watches videos of fights before doing the content why should I be bashed for trying to learn to be a better player? I would rather repeatedly fail and have fun doing so then just cheese the content for no reward.

To have come so close to beating Ramah Ex, I know that when I do it'll be an awesome feeling just like how it felt beating Titan extreme with a random Duty Finder group.

/highfive It's so hard to get anyone to run synced content. I couldn't get anyone in my old FC to run GARUDA NORMAL with me for MSQ, for goodness sake!

I dunno, wiping and failing has never really bothered me (until people get bitchy lol). I remember queuing for Urth's Fount for weeks, determined to beat that fight synced because I didn't know anyone in game that would run it with me. I never did beat it lol. The few times I got a party that stuck it out to the bitter end (like, we got kicked out of the Duty because we ran out of time LOL), we spent so much time wiping to mechanics, that by the time we could reliably get to the last phase, the DPS check beat us every time, and we only had 15 minutes to work on that part hahaha. "One more try? I think we got it this time" "Dude, we've got 2 minutes, it's not even possible to burn him that quickly." But we still pulled again. XD

I just think we're in the minority is all. Of course, I don't get to do runs like that often, since I just don't have the time.

Funnily enough, the most determined DF parties I ended up with consisted of newbies, probably because we all just wanted to learn the fight.

Well with cross server party finder up maybe a thread can be set up or something for any new players that want to run these old primals, and honestly even the hw ones because, I still could see a que for Ravana being pretty long depending on what server your on. Im actually going to do that and I hope to get feedback , when I do its been on my mind for a while Id just love to get new players together that want to run content, but may just really need to learn it. Id hoping the cross server party finder will solve alot of how the progression in this game works, gettin like minded people together to do content they want to not do unsync.

That would be awesome. I love running with newbies at this point, sometimes it's the only thing that makes an old dungeon interesting again LOL. Plus there's the fact that I myself haven't had the chance to clear many synced primals, (not a big fan of DF... had one too many rage-fests, so I've been avoiding it). I was actually debating on starting up an FC devoted to players who are interested in completing all the content, and helping our newbies learn it too, but I'm hoping with the cross server stuff it won't be necessary anymore.

I finally beat Ramah Ex synched. Such a great feeling. The problem I have had with this fight is that individuals who play key roles in it such as a tank, either not having key skills (like provoke) or the unwillingness to listen to a plan and doing whatever they feel like doing. And that's not inclusive to just tanks it's everyone really...

But maaaaaan. The feeling of finishing the fight with a great team ♡ so good. Now only Ifrit, Shiva and Laviathen to go amd if what I'm told is accurate they are much more forgiving than Titan and Ramah

Shiva is harder than ifrit in my opinion only because of the falling ice , that can get annoying but she is still easier than the others mention and ifrit is only an issue for healers cause they have a stupid debuff so u should be fine

Cross-class skills will be removed in a future patch and replaced with selectable role skills as I understand it. That should fix the design flaw of having required cross-class skills. Fortunately for me, I was leveling Paladin alongside my Warrior main just so I can experience the different tank roles before settling. I'll do Dark Knight as well eventually. Now I have provoke ready for when I need it!
