D-pad and analog freeze for controller

Time: In and Out of battle
Frequency: once every 20 mins or so

Steps:
1. Occasionally gamepad state is frozen for ~2s and thus cause unintentional party target (D-pad), movement (L analog), camera movement (R analog), inability to perform action.
2. Occasionally the Windows prompt that signify disconnection and connection of hardware can be heard at the same time.

Actually I'd like to chime in and say I've had this happen several times as well. Same symptoms too: If I'm rotating the camera when this happens the camera continues to do so even if I release the stick (similar effect with running) and if I had hit a face button when this started, it continuously repeated the action until the controller uh, came to its senses?

Though mine is without the Windows prompt/sound effect. It's not frequent, but it does happen. I use a Xbox One wired controller.

This can usually be fixed by going into Device Manager and disabling the Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator, listed under Software Devices. I had the same problem with my wired Xbox One controller on my girlfriend's laptop, and this worked.

Well I'll give it a shot. It's hard to test since the thing only acts up when it feels like it!
