    Companions in Dungeons

    My suggestion is that it would be awesome to be able to use companion chocobos in dungeons to fill a slot in a party that isn't full-- for example, if I am running PotD with a friend and we have two open slots in our party, we could both summon our companion chocobos.

    I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but I feel that it'd really improve the experience with companions.

    It's been suggested many times and the answer is still no. Dungeons are not balanced for chocobos.

    OK this might not be what you are after but I believe that the GC squad system would be extended to allow you take 3 of them into dungoens

    They said they will look into bringing your GC squaddies into dungeons. A long time ago they had plans for Chocobos to accompany you in dungeons, but I do believe that is scrapped now.

    I would rather have the ability to choose up to 3 members from our Squadrons. They are supposedly there in some cloud awaiting instructions why not use them?

    Squad members would be nice. BUT, I get to choose the appearance of my retainers. So I would like to have the option of using retainers for that. I would much, much, much rather take one or more retainers with me as party NPC instead of Squad members,

    They are supposedly planning on having the chocobo count more as pets than party members, as well as allowing us to have a chocobo out while queue'd for DF. It should not be too much of a stretch to go from those, to having chocobo with us in dungeons.

    I foresee a couple of problems with that though, namely tuning. Either chocobos have to be made weak enough to not matter (and they actually would matter now, provided they did not eat AE's and die), or else dungeons would have to be tuned to having chocobos out, making leveling the chocobo a "mandatory" thing rather than an optional thing.

    I'd hate to log in one day to see a PF for a Sastasha NM run, with chocobos, "max chocobo or kick."

    Re: GC Squaddies, unless its 50 only content, OR they raise the level cap on them, I really do not see the point. They are classes, not jobs, so are missing some vital stuff. And at 50, they would not be useful in HW beyond Stone Vigil - and there, only barely.

    most dungeons now are not tightly tuned. so Gubal Library (Hard) will take 10 minutes to do with 4 max chocobos out instead of 15 without any. it's not going to be a big deal.

    what's more likely is that you won't get to use them for anything that you can't undersize.

    Obvioulsy it is a party member now and it is not allowed in dungeon intentionally,
    and It has said that Chocobo will become not being treated as a party member soon ...^^;
