I just fly. But most the time I don't even use the mini aetheryte In towns. Usually find its quicker to run than to play roulette and hope I clicked the right one.

They were designed to use before flight. You could use them if you wish, but flying is much faster (obviously).

I've considered setting up assorted "footrace" events with my FC where the people aren't allowed to mount and must kill anything they aggro, which could be fun, but not practical, of course.

Doesn't take longer to fly for me. Those loading screens take a bit to get through.

I mean if you need to get to the other side and load times are good, I'd imagine it may be slightly quicker, may be worth checking out.

You already did if you did main story. It's how you get around before you unlock flying in Azys Lla.

Loads - very common to see gatherers there, hunters & also those hunting mobs for the drops.

I wish there were treasure map locations there, and more sidequests. It really is the most underutilized zone in the expansion, and possibly the whole game.
