Then you're missing out on an old wise woman being cheeky towards the youngins.

Anyway, read what Yamimarik and Miles posted in what I quoted. You can't deny the facts (well you can, but then that just makes it even more pointless to argue with you).

I'm happy with the dated English.

With the exception of the overuse of "ever" to mean "always", which has ever felt forced, in any franchise that employs it.

Which is another reason I find the Japanese lacking, personally. People just don't seem to have much personality.

Your entitled to your opinion however it seems like you finally agree the English localization has differences in its translation and from what I gather differences that don't seem to really matter to you which is fine and your opinion. IMO and others it does.

I never disagreed. The entire point was to get you to stop claiming there was an "original" and that the English localisation "suffers" or some nonsense like that. That's what started this entire argument.

Story/plot, lore and characters are all still exactly the same (as far as I know). If a character seems different, then it's either because the team decided to give them a little extra personality (Matoya), or tone them down a tiny bit (Haurchefant).

Well idk what else to say my stance is that the English Localization suffers from major differences compared to the original version in that it has a medieval genre to it which is imo distracting. OP said this at the start of this thread "weird English" because of the overt use of old English that's distracting and suffering. You even tried to talk about MCH not being a medieval theme however you don't realize that I'm not calling FFXIV medieval I'm calling the English localization medieval so MCH has nothing to do with the English translation / localization. But I've said this already and seems like you don't understand my point.

Except it's not entirely medieval (we've come full circle, people).

You're still wrong about there being an 'original,' though. I can quote Miles again, if you'd like.

lol but its medieval that's all I'm saying. So to answers OP question the reason why this is here:

Is because the English Localization has a medieval theme going on.

Name ten characters who specifically talk with a thee, thy and thou dialect.
Then name ten who do not specifically talk with a thee, thy and thou dialect.

You might be surprised with what you will find and that the English language has multiple dialects (once again, we've come full circle).
