instant gratification = miserable long term failure.
Again, that is looking at it in terms of a progression based MMO. Which is long gone as being the front and center of a MMO now. It's about heavy content that can be repeatable will alleviation on the progression. Especially when that progression requires multiple max level classes.

and once again you are stating that is what will be put in later in the life of the game. at this point there is not enough of that content to last so skipping the leveling process is a step too soon.

if there was more levels above 50 then the rate in which levels are gained would be fine.

if there was enough content in the game then the rate would be fine.

the problem is neither of those exist. there is no higher levels nor is there enough content to support the speed in which levels are gained now.

both of your argument for the fast speed would be completely relevant if either of your arguments existed. i'm not saying that the speed should never be increased. what myself, and others, have stated is there is nothing in game atm to justify the speed it is now.

right now with the speed to level you can get all battle classes to cap in a week time. patches are coming every few months so there is no need to level at that pace. once more content or levels are increased the move would be completely fine.

There is enough content. As I stated before, but I will again since you like to skip ahead and assume what I mean in my posts. You just look at it as very little because you've completed most of it already. For a new player starting right now, there is an overwhelming amount of content to partake in even if that player is magically propelled to 50 in 2-3 days.

Then you have to anticipate later they will have content surrounding jobs and even more instanced content. Clearly, both of us cannot know the ultimate plan on why progression is the way it is without a direct answer, but an educated assumption would be that the game is attempting to grow into a content heavy MMO instead of a dated progression heavy MMO. Which is a good thing. I don't think this progression pace is going to last forever though.

The reasoning I'd see this as a good thing is that for returning players, and players who are interested enough to pay to play, they don't have to be cock blocked entirely by slow and grindy progression if they don't want it. However, come 2.0 I can see this changing when it's deemed fit to call a legitimate release.

it would only be overwhelming if they have the mental capacity of a 5 year old. there has been very few things added since release. if i can complete it all then they can too. by stating they can't you are just saying that they can't set goals and reach them without the easy mode handouts. congrats, it's a tough skill to master being able to take up for and insult the same group of people at once, but you made it look easy.

once again if the people that started on release could complete the stuff in game then the people coming in after them can do the same thing. to state they cannot is pure insulting to those people.

Did I insult you? I was just trying to make a point and be empathetic regarding new players. Something that I don't see many other people talking about. All that I see are people holding onto their exclusivity and fear of losing their supposed status in progression.

There is a reason why it's fast right now. There is also a reason why you think there is little content, but I'm not going to be a broken record.

Also, I've seen you around here since forums have opened up. You did not have all the content up until now released to you all at once. You've completed it as was released, I'm assuming, or else you wouldn't be so thirsty for new content. This would not be true with a new player. This is the point I'm trying to make. Grindy progression based leveling would not tempt this desired player base. Clearly, the player base who do not mind the grind are all here already. If we did mind it, we would have been gone a long time ago. Time for some growth and time to start thinking about other markets and other players interests instead of focusing on something that very little people want and are probably not going to be rewarded of.

Which, honestly, I think is to get their MMORPG nostalgia back. It's not going to happen. Ever. It's impossible. The circumstances surrounding that feeling on what the ideal MMORPG is, for them, cannot be recreated. It is a series of in game and outside influences that surrounded their life and made them happy in those moments that created that feeling. It cannot be recreated. So, just let the game become what the devs mean for it to be and not locked in a bubble of your nostalgia. Drawn out progression systems are the old MMORPG. The one you need to leave behind.
