It is perfectly fine when you look at it as a content heavy game in the end rather than a progression based game. However, that is not what the game is right now. Being 50% complete from it's redevelopment there really is no knowing which it will be, but I believe that changes like this have a reason.

While I agree that it may be a little fast, you have to remember that this is for players who have grown accustom to the world, where to go to level, resources to make gil and equipment and the like. If you were a new member of Eorzean society your perception of the content could more than likely be overwhelming. It only seems like content is minimal because you've been completing it as soon as it's released. The bigger picture is that this game is being developed with one greater plan in mind and that is for new comers. New end game content will come in to keep everyone occupied and it needs to be there to keep current players interested, but take what we have on top of content coming down the pipeline the next 3 months. This is an overwhelming amount already for a new player.

Taking this into account and the armoury system there needs to be some alleviation somewhere to keep players interested and new players from feeling there is no possible way to get into the game and be there with the already established community to complete content. Not many other games allow you to level all classes on one character and pull skills learned from them to build your character. XI allowed this, but with a limit to only take skills from one job as a sub with half potency and half level cap from your max level. Most games only allow one class per character which calls for longer progression because that is just one investment.

Again, this is all based on if the direction is progression. Which is barbaric now-a-days for MMOs. It will always be there, we know this, but developing content heavy MMOs is entirely more rewarding than balancing XP rewards and time sinks in grinding. If time sinks are needed, which I believe they are for a MMO model, they should be in the high quality rewards of difficult content. Preposterous amounts of time leveling for a game in which having multiple classes progressed in part of it's end game requirements are not a successful modern MMO make.
