I unlike many people here don't pretend to know what the community wants.
I make suggestions that I think people may also think are awesome ideas, but the focus on my ideal game. I can never know what someone else truely wants so I don't pretend to know. You seem to know what everyone wants for the game and thats a broad assumption, these forums don't span the games community and just because the few "Hardcore" players who bother to post here are for/against something it doesn't mean it's what the game developers or the whole community wants.
We have been told to give the developers our feedback and suggestions, we are all here doing so. I am not being selfish, I have ideals that people may find "Selfish" but if you knew me at all I don't actually pour alot of time into the game either but when I do I like my time to feel worth it. With my infrequent play I still have 2 rank 50 classes hell almost 3 if Botany wasn't so unrewarding past the 40's...
Nothing so far has felt like it has rewarded the time and effort I have invested in the game, Darkhold, Ifirit are nice things to have but it's a paltry sum of challenging content even for a game that is still being worked on. I just don't understand the point of a leveling system when the system itself has been thrown to the side like a worn out sock. People seem to be all for skipping the leveling process while keeping it in the game for some reason.
This if anything speaks louder than words...tell me what is the point of having class ranks when the "Grind" is so pointless that no one wants to do it? I may not speak for the community but I feel that my ideals are what is best for the community wether they like it or not.
It's a twisted way to put it, but I care for the community as well it's a integral part of my gameplay experience to have a thriving community. I find a "Grind" to be a required evil, people may moan about it but it forges bonds that endgame content "Especially as it is now" will never do. I find a small tightknit community to be far more enjoyable than a larger chaotic community.
My ideals don't fall into what everyone wants with the game but nobody has ideals that will please everyone, there is no "Pleasing the community" because it's made of a mishmash of players of different backgrounds. You will find plenty of people who back my ideas when they suit their ideals and then turn around and hate the next idea I have because it revolts them. It's natural and I take no offense to it, it's far better than assuming I know what everyone wants, I just know what I think would be best for the game.
If your trying to assume you know what everyone wants that is just silly and I have no further need to talk to you about anything. Such a narrow minded view on things has it's positives, but for debating purposes it's useless.
I do feel that people who don't put effort into the game should be behind, this is a universal truth that will shine through regardless of how the game is developed. If I play for 500 hours I will be ahead of the person who has only played 100 hours wether it be through gear, ranks, levels, quests, jobs, skills, knowledge.
if you are playing a MMO and have no discernable advantage over a new player then I think that game has 0 value as a MMO. I personally think it should revolve around every facet of the game not just some who think gear or quest progress should be the only discernable investment. I want everything to be a challenge that rewards me for my time and my skill, it will never be exactly as I want it but as long as SE continues to ask for my suggestions I will continue to give them and support ideas that I feel allign with my own ideals.
*TLDR version*
I say I, Me, and My alot because I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself. The game was made for a community it's true, but SE is asking for my feedback and I am giving them it in the most honest way possible by giving them MY opinion and not trying to pass it off as anyone elses.
The people who agree with me will make it known themselves, I feel no remorse for someone who can't say what they want for the game. Speak for yourself and never assume you speak for others.
I do see you deleted this message but I would like to point out it's not a vanity thing, it is however a great way to get exposure to my ideas and as you can see alot of people actually support the main two threads in my signature.Originally Posted by Synfrag

I don't do it for "Epeen" as I don't care how important anyone thinks I am over the internet. I just wanted to make sure you weren't misunderstanding the meaning of my signature links. I care about the game as much as anyone else who wants it to make it all the way, I may do it differently but most of us on this forum want the same thing.
A game we can enjoy.
