I dont like where my post is heading, so I ll say this straight out:

This is not about casual vs hardcore or grind fest, I am speak my opinion (my own not this community) that the exp rate atm is to high which leading to a game w/o journey or any taste

And for ppl who say the exp curve is fine atm, I have questions to you:

    1. Do you play the game at all ?

    2. Do you realize the game you're playing is lacking of journey, fun while process or for you party & grind is fun ?

    3. Do you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you have to wait 2-3 days to a week before you can enjoy it or you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you can enjoy from the very start ?

In before you answer the 3rd question please read this:

I do ask for exp reduce which lead the game the take longer to reach the climax (end game) but I do request more quest into the game. The quest I request are (Class mission) and (Job mission) which are chain quests which open 1 after another which give you good amount of exp but it will not enough to inrease lvl, you will have to party or solo for the left over

note: the reason I write this idea now is because even if I write it at the first post, no one will bother to read it because it ll become wall of text.

I stopped as I'm playing a lot of MW3 as well as working on XIVPads. But PLing was the only reason I came back from my 6 month hiatus.

    2. Do you realize the game you're playing is lacking of journey, fun while process or for you party & grind is fun ?
Lacking Journey? The journey you see is Levelling, that is not the journey for me, the journey for me is adventure, seeing new places and fighting new foes, this is what the game lacks in with about 60 different mobs and only a fair few places to go. (v2 change i noes). I also see journey in quests, which also game lacks in currently because a lot are idential, so I have chosen to ignore them until there is lots I can do. That is my journey.

I have absolute no idea what "fun while process or for you party and grind is fun" means.

    3. Do you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you have to wait 2-3 days to a week before you can enjoy it or you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you can enjoy from the very start ?

What do you mean by this? Boosting would be similar to a theme park in that you go to one, Pay ticket, then go on the rides! and enjoy. Grind would be paying for it but being forced to wait couple days per ride lol.
I believe the EXP Rate is fine, because its optional now. If you want to level slow, you can slow down yourself, if you want to level fast, you can, your friends can join in and not have to wait months before they can play with you.

I ask, why do you care about the EXP Rate, does it affect you or are you just envious that people have more time to play to level? Or do you feel that the game will some how die with PLing when PLing has been here for over a month now and everyone seems to be boasting about player increase, did the state of the game and the easy levelling bring back players? Whos to know, (SE!)

It is not about skill, in levelling, you know that, you quoted me in your signature, so you know its true, and it is also obvious.

Levelling was originally there to keep people playing and paying. But that is not enough, that is not a bad thing now. Things are changing, look at games today. First Person Shooters have to create web and mobile applications just to be big now, (Elite/Battlelog), the Free 2 Play model is becoming insanely popular and almost being more viable option than paying with many companies seeing higher profits using this model (DC Universe for one tripples their Playerbase and players spent more increasing their model).

Times are changing. People have busy life's, and well FFXIV is stuck in a very tight area right now.

A lot of people cant stand aspects of the game and wish to not maul it out all the time, that is why people prefer quests over fighting mobs and why a lot of games are moving into that direction (tera/sw/dc universe/gw2/etc...)

But what is the meaning to quests over mobs, well the experience is different, unique and ever changing in that you do different scenarios throughout a single quest, where as levelling for the same EXP you do the same scenario constant (claim mob, hit mob, kill mob, claim mob, hit mob, kill mob, claim mob, hit mob, kill mob, etc).

The reason a lot of games succeeded in the past was likely due to variety and not knowing better.

I also think FFXIV would stand a lot better with a slower EXP Rate if there was more places to level. At the moment you do it all in 1 or the other area, there are not a lot of places to go. This is not about "There are X amount of camps", this is about the number of zones there are in game, which obviously is alarming low right now and wont be fixed until v2. So there is no variety, you spend an awful long time grinding in a single area, it becomes dull, and you resent that area discreetly.

When you can do x levels (small increments) on 1 mob, in 1 area, then move to next area and it be completely different, with a completely new mob that requires a new strategy, having this every few levels would remove the essence of the conveyor belt like levelling.

This is how SP games work.

    1) Do you play the game at all ?
    A) Yes, a lot with the exception of this last week and Skyrim being ultimately more enjoyable. Though I have almost beaten it.

    2) Do you realize the game you're playing is lacking of journey, fun while process or for you party & grind is fun ?
First I will attempt to convert this into something resembling English
2.1) Do you realize the game you're playing lacks a sense of journey or provides a fun environment as you progress in level or in partys.
    A) Completely, and this is something both the playerbase and SE already fully understand. This entails much of the major changes being implemented into 2.0 and was realized by the developers nearly an entire year ago. It also has nothing to do with leveling speed.

    3. Do you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you have to wait 2-3 days to a week before you can enjoy it or you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you can enjoy from the very start ?
This is a terrible analogy and does not clearly illustrate your question.
Is this regarding the move to paid subscription or does it relate to the grind? If you are talking about the entertainment value of the grind then I can honestly say it's on par with any other game. We have multiple methods to accomplish it, although they are not extremely fleshed out at the moment.

Let's compare three titles and their methods to leveling.
Aion: Run instances, solo grind and quest
WoW: Run instances, solo grind, quest and Battlegrounds PvP.
FFXIV: Toto-rak, solo grind, party grind, leves, behest and a little from the story your first time around.

Of these I see no one as being better or worse in any way. The trip from 1-cap is no better in any of them but clearly we don't have the endgame that the other two have.

your convert is not what I mean.

I dont say they do either. There are 2 thing in this thread I request, exp reduce, and the other part you answer is my idea of the "quest" I want to add into the game

uh...yes. i play almost every weekday after work and the entire weekend if i don't have prior engagements. do you see me with all classes at 50? nope!

    2. Do you realize the game you're playing is lacking of journey, fun while process or for you party & grind is fun ?

to me, the journey is gaining lodestone achievements and hanging out with my ls buddies. i don't prescribe to your idea of fun. to reference gath, my fun is worth more than your fun.

    3. Do you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you have to wait 2-3 days to a week before you can enjoy it or you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you can enjoy from the very start ?

hmmm. i think that's called planning? idk. if i plan for a trip to a theme park and buy the ticket in advance because of some groupon deal, i don't mind waiting around to enjoy it.

btw i have no idea what you mean by this question. so i'm answering nonsense with a little sense.
