1) I do.1. Do you play the game at all ?
2. Do you realize the game you're playing is lacking of journey, fun while process or for you party & grind is fun ?
3. Do you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you have to wait 2-3 days to a week before you can enjoy it or you prefer to pay ticket to a theme park where you can enjoy from the very start ?
2) Kind of responded to this in another post. SE has to use what little resources they have for 1.x to design for the people who spent the first year of the game doing nothing but leveling. If they weren't working on 2.0 it'd be a different story.
3) Kind of a personal question. I don't really like grinding in any capacity. Real world examples are an odd thing. I'd rather SE focus on keeping those at cap busy while allowing others to catch up. It's the only way to keep everyone happy.

If you're leveling too fast, grab another MMO and divide your time, it's as simple as that. Nothing is going to change in this regard until 2.0.
It's not a whole hell of a lot faster than XI or any other MMO the difference is there is no timesink content besides crafting like there was in XI. A lot of people stalled in their leveling due to BCNM, KSNM, ENM, PM, ZM, Nation Missions, NMs, Besieged, Ballista, ZNM, Dynamis, Limbus, Einherjar, Salvage, Assault, Crafting, Skillups, Meriting, Sky and Sea.
Even just at NA launch you still had BCNM, KSNM, ZM, Nation Missions, NMs, Crafting, Skillups and Sky.
Also, any missions including nations almost always required more than 1 person. The main story and the simplicity in XIV is really disappointing.

I don't care what these people saying the grind now is fine how it is... if it was tough, they would spend their time complaining and shoving their ideas down our throat. It would work both ways, just so happens this game is VERY easy to level up now. How fast you can exp chain makes it useless to have PL parties. Why can't there be a happy medium that would make it a little grindier while having people actually progress to their next levels. Wishing Yoshi never had this idea of PL to begin with.

well who care's it too late till 2.0, people dont know how to play anyways. had my share of good grind partys then my bad share of party where healers dont want to heal or they run away when they get aggro. tanks that dont have any hate grabber on the action bar they need to get rid of letting people out side the party kill your mobs for you then they'll be forced to learn how to play not sit in one place and gain levels.
end game is the same as the beganing of the game >.>WoW: Run instances, solo grind, quest and Battlegrounds PvP.
Why don't you go complain in FFXI forums too huh? It takes 10 hours or less to get Lv30 to Lv95 in FFXI.

I'd like them to roughly halve the exp given from defeating enemies. Even at 1.18 when I first started it only took me 2.5 weeks to get my first 50 from scratch. There's something to be said about a max level class being a long term achievement, it took me a year to get my first 75 on FFXI, and I ended up playing it for 6 years.
Couldn't have said it better myself.SE poll the community please so people can stfu -_- so tired of seeing this, if the game is going to continue down this road then please do a poll let us see the results so people who don't like can quit, like myself, if the game stays this way i'm gone.. I like a good grind its fun, especially when the journey is fun.. even in WoW, in guildwars the journey is fun
Quite frankly, I'm no longer leveling anything because not only have I realized how easy it is to level (35~50 in a matter of hours? anyone that can even call that remotely a grindfest has absolutely no credibility), but that I hate soloing. People that think there's a choice in the matter are only fooling themselves.
(That said, I will agree with one thing, that since 50 isn't going to be the be-all/end-all level cap, there's still the possible chance that the end cap won't be so easy to get to.)

So what you're saying is that you'll play a game for five years once you have a character at cap?I'd like them to roughly halve the exp given from defeating enemies. Even at 1.18 when I first started it only took me 2.5 weeks to get my first 50 from scratch. There's something to be said about a max level class being a long term achievement, it took me a year to get my first 75 on FFXI, and I ended up playing it for 6 years.

Did you read what I said or just hit the quote button?
What I mean is if it takes longer to level up there's a greater sense of achievement, more appreciation of your journey to the cap, more time able to be invested in building your character, more practice playing and testing your class and it's abilities and more things to do, which ultimately leads to a more enjoyable, long-lasting play experience that keeps you busy over a much longer period of time.
Looking back I think they may actually need to make exp given about 1/3 or 1/4 what it is now, even then you still level damn fast. The point of how many years I played it was that originally the leveling was very, very slow and solely party based and I ended up playing the game for years despite this fact, lots of people did. Now I hardly log onto FFXIV, which began to happen after I capped all DoM/W classes.
When a game is easy, there's no sense of a challenge, it just makes it boring. The fact that it's been so easy to level up for a couple months now really makes me worry about the future of the game, and how new players and existing ones will view leveling as such an easy objective. I usually advocate every decision they make in reforming the game, exp and leveling rates, however, is something I strongly disagree with.
