The "grind to learn you role" is kind of a moot point with 1.20 and 1.21 coming.

How many of the level 50 players will know how to use the new combo system? How many will know how to play jobs?

Does anyone really suspect that the player base will say "well, they completely changed my main's abilities. I had better kill even match mobs for three months before I touch that Dark Moogle battle so I don't look like a noob"?

No one learns their role through exp parties. They only learn the basics of party mechanics. The more casual player will take longer to level and thus have more time to wrap their head around it. Those of us that are more seasoned gamers who might take significantly less time to level already get it - tanks tanks, DDs do damage, mages heal. And by 2.0 we'll be doing all of that in very different ways than we do now.

That would be my ideal leveling experience evoid of all the little cool stuff you could do on the side. Which conveniently isn't the topic of discussion.

If i understand correctly this thread is in regards to the main source of gaining experience points. If that means implementing a new system to balance it out AND make it more entertaining i see no harm in talking about it.

By my last statement I meant by side quests that aren't a viable means of character progression but have the possibility to be entertaining. I didn't mean to confuse you. And now I am wondering how long a discussion can go on if the only two points of opinion/reason are if something is too high or too low while remaining with in those literal boundaries of discussion.

    "I think it's too fast"

    "I think it's too slow"

    "I think it's juuuuuuust right"

<end of discussion (give or take a few pointless reasons for individual opinion)>

If you do feel it contributes I would much prefer to prolong the leveling process rewarding better performance with better experience. So the "already skilled" players can get to 50 in a week or two because they know how to play. And the ones who are still learning have to...well...learn to play better in a series of circumstances. The entire post that was apparently off topic explained this.

I apologize for inadvertently derailing the thread.

the remind wasn't toward you, I read your post and it stay within, the quest is also a part of it as well in the "addition note".

I borrows the last 2 line to remind because the post after your is off side topic, which is about NM and Dungeon

1845exp from the level 59 wolf in Natalan, but don't remember the chain#. Got my third 50 (from being 21k into 46) in roughly two hours (with two d/c's and a restart.)

My first 50 took me like 3 months to get (way back in time), my last 50 took me a week. That's how MMO's rolls buddy; one day you're in a slow dance and all of the sudden you're in a mambo #5.

The only reason IMO they should "lower" the XP gain was so players wouldn't still be a noob at 50. I had a friend that got back in the game at that crazy PL week (where PLers could be inside the party) and he got 1-50 in like 2 days only by following his PL... Guess what, he didn't know half his action list and barely knew how to stack or when to use them properly. Herp derp. But after they fixed that PL shit and now with the actions list reductions, noobs that are still noobs might be less noobs cuz there will be less actions to dance with! And hey, 2 weeks is enough to learn your job, right?
