People need to understand that this is not a democracy. SE does what they want. If we like it, we stay. If we don't, we leave. If we don't care as much... meh.

I agree with the OP. There is no sense of accomplishment with getting your class to level cap in a matter of days, especially when there is so little end-game content and people stand around, bored, with no goals and nothing to do. Furthermore, I don't want to see this game turn into another MMO where 'Life Begins At Endgame'. The steeper leveling curve was one of the few things I liked about FFXI. Having a level 75 job used to really mean something in that game. It was about the journey, not the destination. I wanted to have that same feeling here.

Agreed. Where are the leveling options we were promised? Especially quest-based leveling? If we had more of this, the journey would be much more entertaining and fulfilling, and we wouldn't have to worry about so much of the grind.

This journey you guys keep talking about is made up by you. You can choose how fast you level and when/where to level.
by saying taking longer to get to a cap in a game equals better accomplishment is rather ridiculous when its something you yourself controls.

The problem with the journey you ask for is not the leveling but the simple lack of any type on content.
If we had much more content then there would be much more to do then just leveling and people wouldn't level as fast would they?

Having something max level on a game is great congratz to you but not everyone feels the same way. it took me 6 months to level ranger to 75. 4 days to level bard. I felt bard was a much bigger accomplishment doing it so fast with XI's horrid grind. But that's what I felt. It would be very selfish of me to ask everyone else to level that fast to feel what i felt wouldn't it?

There are many Leveling options you just choose not to do them. Its all a grind even quest. go here kill this run back rinse repeat. the longer it takes to do the more grind it becomes.

So everyone who keeps asking them to lower it stop being so selfish and trying to force everyone to play the way you think/feel we should. You have the choice to level as fast/slow as you wish.

Whew I'm glad I got almost all my war and magic classes to 50. The people that want XP reduced will be the same ones that will cry that it had been reduced too much. We've seen it happen before with one of the previous patches.

I'm glad SE didn't reduce anima. Look it how things turned out. Perfectly fine. Everyone eventually adapts to their form of happiness in the game. The same applies to XP.

I feel exp rate is fine. Most folks don't enjoy spending months leveling. Just put in more end game content..that is where the most fun is. Leveling gets monotonous fast...end game stuff tends to last longer...^.^

I do speak for Myself. However what you and others don't or refuse to see/believe. Is that the current system has things for everyone. If you want to level fast you can level fast. want to level slow you can. By wanting them to change it to where EVERYONE has to level as slow as YOU feel we should. is the selfish act I speak of. You want the game to be how you want it to be and simply do not care if it effects others. You don't want a middle ground and try to make both sides happy. You simply want everyone to be Equal to you which again is selfish.

I have never seen you talk about how to make both sides of the community happy or even think about both sides. But always see you talk about you want with no regards to what others want (unless they agree with you). You don't have to Think or know what the entire community wants in order to think about them when you ask SE to make a decision that will effect EVERYONE's playing experience.

I don't know why you don't understand. That taking your time and enjoy your trip up to 50 while letting others level up fast as they wish and have fun sitting in ul'dah all day. would benefit both sides far more then forcing everyone to choose one or the other.
Why does SE have to slow it down for everyone for you to get that effort and experience you are searching for?

I'm not one for fast leveling look at my jobs been playing since release on and off and still only one level 50. I spend most of my time online doing things I like doing and leveling as I please. I couldn't care less if johnny gets all his jobs to 50 before I do. I'll laugh at him sitting in Ul'dah while i'm having fun with the game. But the difference between us is I'm not letting anyone else but me effect my gaming experience and journey.

Becasue it's a fruitless search. Finding a middle ground does nothing but give people "Tollerance" it doesn't make them "pleased".

I do think about the community when I post, I think a slower leveling curve is benificial for everyone, again wether they really want it or not. It's a touph love aproach but it's how I am. I don't believe in "Everyone wins" scenarios because they don't exist.

Trying to please everyone just turns into the equivilant of "Giving everyone gold stars" a fruitless attempt to make everyone happy that fails everytime.

I do feel like the time I took to get my 2 rank 50 classes is made pointless because I refuse to power level I am "Behind" other players despite me actually putting effort into the game. I accept that I will never be as far ahead as powerleveling people and I enjoy the time I spend leveling my classes. It doesn't help but dull my victory when my extra effort has 0 advantages aside from being a good way to kill time.

I play MMO's so I can see the results of the time I invest, if I want quick and easy fun I play a normal game. I can't invest weeks at a time like I used to but I like to see the results of the time I spend reflect on my character and the server I play on.

Watching people "Skip" the hard part makes it feel like what I'm doing is pointless. Why does SE have to allow people to skip a important part of the game?

Like I said before if your going to do something, do it. If SE considers leveling a "Barrier" then they should remove it and focus the game on "Endgame" based solely on gear...I would love to see how many people who support Powerleveling would react if leveling was removed entirely.

Would be a different story I think, even now the illusion of leveling has a profound impact on the game even if it's been reduced to a few days time people will still cling to its importance. They just want to get to the top of the mountain as fast as they can.

If I had to use a analogy it would be like standing in a flat room, there is a staircase and a teleporter to "The other room" but once you get there it's the same flat room as before why even bother having a second room?

XP is a bit fast I will agree there. But I don't get how you can say you don't like the grind, but once you are 50 all you do it grind to get materia, and on the same mobs over and over and over. LOL its the same thing you either grind to get 50 or grind to break gear and gain none of the XP from a kill. I have NP with a longer LVIng process, but PPL like it fast so that's the way it will stay.

I guess it's just a matter of where the "Grind" appears. But by the look of things I don't think it will be long before materia gets a heavy handed nerf as well until people have nothing worth accomplishing.
