Opinion: Your IDEAL Dungeon Team

Just a curiosity of mine. What is your ideal party setup for a dungeon (and let's assume everyone is competent at their role). Obviously all classes/jobs can clear dungeons, but I do think it's easier for some than others for various reasons. We're going off of 4 man dungeon teams.

So anyways--

Your Tank Job/Class Choice?
Your Healer Job/Class Choice?
Your 2 DPS Job/Class Choices?

SMN/DRG

PLD choice is purely biased. My sis mains PLD, she's good at it, and half the time when I run with a crap tank it's a WAR that likes to blame everyone else, or a DRK that hasn't tanked before.

AST - I like those sweet sweet Balance cards... @u@ No seriously though, my fav FC healer mains WHM, but if it's with randoms, I love the buffs AST brings to the party.

SMN - again, biased. It's my main, but even when I switch to tank I like the mob DoTs that a SMN brings. Makes big pulls fun!

DRG - This was a coin-toss tbh. I find I work well with any DPS class so long as it's not another SMN (everything dies so sloooowly if we're all waiting on DoTs LOL). BRD songs are fab, BLM is the single-target king. But I'd prefer NIN, DRG or MNK for the melee to balance out my caster lol.

DRK can easily sprint, do aoe and mitigate best for dungeons as a smooth overall score
SMN has top notch AoE
SCH can do great AoE and scales well with DRK as a healer
BRD does good AoE plus has Foe to buff the other 3 who deal magic dmg for their AoE

This setup is pretty much the best to go with in HW.

This set up also happens quite frequently when I am running as SCH.

When I am running as WHM:

I have yet to do any HW instances as I just got there.

War smn/blm brd whm. No other healer has an aoe on demand stun that's as effective as whm. Taking an ast for balance isn't going to compete when you can't draw any or set up your expanded royal road every single trash pull. They have one aoe stun on a long cd and no aoe dot. Sch's bane is strong af but requies time to dot up the one add and an aetherflow stack for the bane, adds might even die before you can get your bane off. Whm just chain stuns huge pulls, which is in turn mitigating damage on the tank. The war's self heals and high damage pretty much require no explaination on why you want them. Pld's circle of scorn is bad, and drk is good but holy can interfere with blood price, so its war all day. Brd is there to foe the smn and whm's aoe damage.

I'm a whm, so I'd want to be in the party I would have a pld to tank for me. I have run into some squishy war and squishy drk but very rarely a squishy pld. That's not to say that all war and drk I run into are squishy. Some are also rock solid. And occasionally there is a squishy pld. It's just a lot less often. Gotta have the brd for foe's because the pld doesn't really need me healing them besides a regen and the occasional top-off, so I'll be dpsing. Toss in a smn/blm and we're good to go.

WHM (my main: Holy stun lock and great AOE)
BLM x2 (Great AoE and single target nukes)

This type of composition makes for a easy 14 minutes run.

This second comp is because DRK and WHM pairs horribly together with eachother Bec of Blood Piece and Holy stuns.
