So Was Ysayle A Warrior Of Light?

I've just been wondering this because when.. the dirty, happened to Ysayle, Y'shtola said "She was one of Hydaelyn's Chosen..*sadface*".

Ysayle had a crstal of Light, the Echo, and Y'shtola said she was one of the Chosen. Does that mean she was a Warrior Of Light? Like us? If so, I'd really like to meet more of them, if there are more. And I do hope they don't get the dirty..

Depends on your definition.

By the strictest of definitions, it seems not. The Ascians have mentioned in the past that a Warrior of Light (in the sense of being Hydaelyn's Champion, able to manifest Crystals of Light, wielder of all six flavors) is a rare thing. It's been thousands of years since Lahabrea has crossed paths with a Warrior of Light.

However, the tier just below that: people who are chosen by Hydaelyn, receive the Echo, take up the cause, and are gifted a Crystal of Light; yes. Ysayle was definitely one of those, and some might call that a Warrior of Light.

Hydaelyn has quite a few agents. The world is simply too big for just a single individual to deal with everything. We however are her champion.

While the exact qualification for "Warrior of Light" status isn't entirely clear, from what I understand it requires the Echo and the Blessing of Light. While various characters do have the Echo (Minfilia, Krile, Raya-O-Senna if I remember right), not all have manifested a Crystal of Light - and even those who do so (Ysayle) rarely manifest all six. That's what makes us special: we have all six Crystals of Light, which grant us the (Full Power) Blessing of Light and mark us as Hydaelyn's champion (not simply one of her chosen).

I think it is more naturally who affects the world the most instead of having the most crystals. They earn their title through actions that bring about Light to the world such is why the WoL we play as is mostly a tool for getting tasks done since he or she is helping making the world a "brighter" world of Light.

Well, naturally; it's because we do heroic deeds and "bring Light" to the realm that we manifest our Crystals. Of the known characters to have the Echo, the only one to get out into the world and actually do things is us - and to a much lesser extent Ysayle.

Our heroism grants us the Crystals of Light, not the other way around.

But what about the Carteneau Warriors of Light the 3 leaders tell you about I'm the beginning of the game?
Is that just put there as a shout out to 1.0 players? No way Lahabrea didn't know about it.. Especially since they showed in the cutscene that he was there O.o.

Because the leaders refer to them as *Warriors of Light* and that no one can remember their faces. Unless they are Ysayle-Tier..

This refers to the people who fought with Louisoix at Cartenau and were spirited away. When people try to recall them, it's missing from their memory. It's like a silhouette against a blinding light - hence the name they are remembered by. They were from the Path of the Twelve, a group that was trying to figure out what the Echo was and where it came from. They all had it, but it doesn't look like anyone from those days ever found out it came from Hydaelyn or got Crystals of Light. (Mainly because those weren't things in 1.0, of course, lol.)
