New player wants on Gilgamesh for friends. Does this server ever unlock?

Hey a personal friend of mine wants to give FF a try. They got the 14 day trail and made a character but unfortunately the server is locked. I've been checking the creation status page on the Lodestone all day with no luck. Does Gilgamesh ever really unlock? I know its a popular server and everything. Or maybe a way around this if you have a friend on the server like recruit a friend or something?

The only way around the character lock is to pay for a server transfer. I've heard that Gilgamesh can unlock right after maintenance or occasionally in the very early hours of the morning, but I have never seen it myself. I'd check the server list in the game lobby, however, not the Lodestone as character creation lockouts change based on number of characters currently logged into the server and therefore the list on the Lodestone can be outdated almost as soon it is posted.

Try https://www.world-alerts.com/. It worked for me, got in to make a new character. I later ended up paying to transfer my main there anyway though, after I realized there was no way in hell I was going to want to invest the time to level up again.

Shouldnt be a problem to roll up a character for it between, say 3AM to 10AM EST. It's currently 7AM EST and every single server on that data center is open for creation.

Servers open depending on logged in player count (which is ridiculous to be fair), so basically night / early morning in whatever time zones the data center is keyed for is what you want to aim for.

correct, I would like to add that picking a week day increases these chances, compared to weekends or holidays. I found that most servers and especially gilgamesh have openings between 1 am (pst) - 2:30 am (pst). A other thing to mention here is, that even if the homepage shows a restriction for that server during these times, it's mostly likely incorrect since the page gets only updated every 5 (?) hrs. Just keep trying.

I only started playing a few days ago and when I logged on to make my first character gilgamesh was unlocked. It was around 2 pm. In UTC-07.00 time. I am on ps4 though. Not sure if it drastically affects anything. But i reccomend you give it a try during that time. Good luck ������

4 hours, actually, but it makes little difference. It's still as wrong.

I've been told it's best to try at 5-6 AM Mountain time. I just did a transfer since I am not up that early let alone playing this. There is some sort of thing that alerts you when it opens (not sure what but I'm sure some research will help)
