FFXI always had some reason or thing that always needed doing that made you want to log in or aim for that goal, aka gear, lvl, mission.

V still needs work. How much of the percentage has already capped out most or even all jobs? I guess aiming for seven IFRIT weapons should be the way? I think alot of people play just because it's the FF brand and it's habit.

Make me want to log in and play? I'm tired of wondering. I guess we should all play cause we get the chance to be able to get some lame title that says two years before the new version came out we put up with the beta?

Of course, but you can't honestly be comparing the standard of MMORPGS 9 years ago compared to today.

If people are paying for an MMORPG (subscriptions start next month) there should almost always be something left to do.

FFXIV lacks severely in this department and unfortunately 1.20 doesn't seem to be brimming with content either.

What they should be doing is encouraging people to work on their DoH + DoL by implementing XP chains.

Lets face it, a lot of the people bickering about lack of content refuse to level their crafts based on the ludicrous leveling curve and material gilsink to max it.

You can't even compare the time/effort it takes to Max your DoW/DoM to that of DoL/DoH.

And lets be honest, leveling DoW/DoM is a lot more enjoyable than the tedious "Minigames" of crafting/gathering.

I barely even scraped content in xi cuz i was grinding so long. I'm fine with xiv adding content as we go, eventually we'll have enough content, especially when an expansion drops. but for now, if your getting bored, why not reroll a different storyline :/

is really really hard for me to say this but,..... there is content, but ppl say there is not enough, is adding, and explain'ed alraedy but seems some doesnt even want to understand the reason why is not implemented, is going to come but you just going to go on and on saying need more content.

You should play if you think it's worth it. Is it not worth it? If so, don't play. Instead of bawww'ing on the forums with people that do think it's worth it. You don't speak for anyone but yourself here.

Well if SE value feedback (which they are constantly reminding us that they do), then they will want to know if players are feeling like there is little/nothing left to do.

I don't think theres anything wrong with saying "I've maxed my jobs, beaten all the dungeons, done the main story and I feel like theres nothing of importance left to do"

That's easy to find out. Are people playing less, are subs dropping? Coming to the forums to bitch, if it doesn't lead anywhere, is hardly feedback that matters. On the other hand, OP could have got the point across by just stopping to play due to lack of content.

On the other hand, "we need more content" really is not much of useful feedback. Every MMO dev knows that whatever amount of content they put out, players demand more. But if the sub numbers are stable, meaning the demands don't really lead anywhere, then they are putting out enough content.

There's anything wrong with quitting a game when you have nothing to do. You don't have to come out and say anything. That's what most people do, and that's far better way to get your point across than bitching yet still hanging around.

Perhaps his tone and wording could use some revision but I think his case in point is fair.

The dev's have always stressed that they want our opinions on the patches.

I think they'd rather us say "Theres not enough here", respond with, "Okay, we'll try and implement more things to do in the next patch" than to stop subscribing all together.

FFXIV always felt like a collaberation between the dev's and the players, more than any other game. I don't think its like other games where you just leave when theres nothing left.
