Ability to change FFXIV music to classic FF OSTs

Don't get me wrong. I do love the soundtrack.

I don't know the best place to put this. But As a suggestion for the game I'd love to see an update that lets us customize the music to the OSTs of old final fantasy games. I feel like when playing for a while it gets to the point where I play with music muted.

I'm unsure if this is universally wanted.

It would be great to be able to change the battle themes. (FF9 battle is my jam jam,FF9 best sound track, #youknowwhatjustmakeitallFF9, #FF7remakeshouldbeFF9cellshaded).

Or change the leve songs, city songs, area songs. Be able to make a random setlist for different occasions so it stays fresh. Doing gathering leves to this would be great.

Obviously youtube has playlists.

I guess it's hard to explain so people can understand. The music wouldn't match the situation unless implemented. For example, I wouldn't want to listen to Sephiroths theme while I'm crafting.

That's like if I was listening to Uldah's theme while doing a dungeon. Just wouldn't fit.

But again, it's a small thing. There is a one out of a million chance this post would make any difference.

There was a thread a while ago asking for a personal orchestrion feature that would let you change the music anywhere you are, similar to the portable radio feature that ffxv has.

I think that would be a good idea. Lore wise, just make it a link pearl that connects to your orchestrion in your house.

i think if they gave us those mod/addons thing they talked about way way back this could become a thing that's done by the community but as it is now, i doubt it's going to be a thing anytime soon with mods/addons being low priority until they can find a way to make it fair for ps4 and pc

While I'm sure SE still owns the copyright to the earlier OSTs (via Squaresoft), there may be other cross licensing issues and/or royalties that prevent or--at the very least--complicate matters

There's also the issue of trying to time the music changes with everything.
