You can;t dye U/U armor end of story....
Is no one else concerned if Job-specific armor can be melded?
this is a neat idea. a black whm.
This thread has gotten a bit heated, but thought I'd share an idea perhaps *IF* they ever decided to allow U/U gear to be dyed. They could implement an npc in cities that specializes in it, only you'd have to provide the necessary mats/dye for the coloring. Price could be set depending on the gear level range as well. Could be a nice gil-sink of sorts.
But yeah, we've gotten our answer regarding the first batch of Job armor, so let's all just cool off a bit and simmer down. Let's see what 2.0 will bring us if there could be any changes down the line.
I do wonder about this as well, but unsure if we'll get another dev-response in this thread.
Coglin...you cannot change your character color in Tactics, the game picked colors for the enemy units depended on what faction they belonged to, and your sprites were the classic/true appearance. Therefore, they were only recolored for the purpose of identifying them among a crowd of units.
Proof that game developers use color coordination to distinguish between unit ownership:
Starcraft
Tactics
Fire Emblem
Proof that this stuff exists and is recognized by other people besides myself
I can continue to list games at your leisure, but I believe that should do. Oh, FF:Tactics uses Type II (in the last link) in case you wanted to know. As far as other titles, I did admit to forgetting the teal Kain because it was oh so long ago, but recently S-E has been on a kick (recently as in a few years now) to unify the series in terms of creating iconic, repeating themes. If you don't believe me ask your defendee. If they did the digging and remember the old Kain maybe they remember some of the old names to spells from the NES/SNES days, and once remade were changed to fit the series to create...Iconic, repeating spells to unify the series.
And I bet you, if there was a DS/3DS remake of 5, those Dragoons would all be purple-black with different armor styles, but none the less purple-black. Just saying.
Edit: lol, I'm not angry at all, for whatever reason Coglin thought best to attack a post/poster rather than discuss like human beings, sadly this happens a lot on these forums...anonymity, what a gift, what a curse...
What attack....I saw BS......I called BS.......the line I quoted was BS.......Just like links to non FF series games being used on this thread, they are not relavent.
nor am I fired up or angry in any way. More incorrectly made false assumptions appearently.
To those of you touting the absurdity of a blue colored white mage or a green colored black mage: has it ever occurred to you that the dyeing process could be tailored to dye the trim of the outfit and not the main color itself?
Sheesh.
